Update:
Found out yesterday I got the job. I have one more interview with the boss man but unless I insult his family the job is mine.

I feel bad leaving my current team but that is life in the military I suppose.

Looking forward to starting training and working a new area of this mission.

Thank you all for your kind words.

Great opportunity for me until I go back to Korea.

I'm well qualified but we will see how it goes.

My personality works great for getting things done, not always for having a stereotypical modern day workplace in some regards.

Good luck! You'll do well. Have a great interview.

Otto,

You can be an asshole at times.

Every unit needs that asshole. I have an E6 who is that asshole. I need something done, I look at him and say, "take care of it" and leave with the understanding he will not violate any boundaries regarding harassment. He has a talk to all the enlisted and it gets done.

Good luck at your interview. Cool

Out of curiosity, what is the interview process compared to civilian?

It's pretty informal as I am employed by the USN and this is just an assessment of my abilities to properly align with the position that needs to be be filled.

However, the position is normally a GS-13/O-4 position so filling it would be quite the bullet. Even by title the position if pretty damn good for my career.
