LUCK tomorrow!!!!

You say it's normally an O-4 position...so Lieutenant Commander. Where are you on the scale...O-3?? Or are you a civilian employee of the USN?? Just curious...

"If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

So the CONUS duty is temporary and you’ll rotate back to Korea. Well, hope you get this job, that’d would indeed be a great resume booster. Best,
T

From one squid to another, good luck! May you answer with only all the gedunk answers.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Just got off the call.

I think I'll be hearing back from them.

Gonna take off for the camp ground tomorrow and not worry about it until I hear back.

My wife is in HR (I know I know) and it has made my work life better. Some advice she has given me:
1. Everything is negotiable. Get it before they hire you, because you won't get it after. For example: I got 5 weeks of paid time off because I asked for it during negotiations. If I didn't and asked for it later, I would be out of luck.
2. If you are not taking their health insurance, ask if there is compensation for that.
3. If the offer doesn't have an expiration date, ask when you must accept by. This lets them know that you are thinking about it and they may assume you have another offer.
4. Be professional and polite. In other words, request and not demand.

Good luck and I hope you get the job.

I certainly won't argue with your wife because I've never dealt with an HR department, sounds like solid advice. My situation is not relatable to most standard hires in this case.

All the well wishes are much appreciated.

Big Grin

My mentor and I were asked to go north and brief on something and were told by folks up north that we had to get new accesses approved. My mentor told them to $&&@&#&##& off and his access was going to have to be ok or we weren't coming and the folks north of the river relented and said "ok".

And that was that. lol

I’ve heard just that, haven’t been yet and not likely given my job here but I’ll definitely try to jump on a tour or something if it comes up.
