I've looked at the pic of your new truck several times and the more I look at it the more I really like it.

Congratulations to you and props to BigSwede for stepping up, isn't Sigforum the greatest place on the planet!

Same here, I like the way it looks. I know where to start when I go truck shopping now.

I have no idea what MPG my old truck got but this new one get a whopping 9.9 MPG. It's definitely not a grocery getter.

My trailer isn't super heavy just a zero turn and a push mower. Probably 1700 lbs. I'm not sure if I should be running the transmission in trailering mode or not.

Yup, tell me about it. I never got better than 14-15 mpg with my F150. Last year I sold it and bought a brand new Colorado. I'm averaging around 23 mpg now which is a relief, but not the towing capabilities the old one had. She will still haul my tractor and trailer around just fine and that probably goes around 5300 pounds.

The Tow Haul mode just reduces all the shifting you see when driving normal. I use it when I tow the trailer but for your light load I don't think I would bother with it.

Oh, you wanted the HD Fuel Miser special edition?

I wouldn't use with tow/haul unless you were
towing heavy

My son's 2007 1/2 ton Chevrolet with a 5.3L gets around 20mpg with an aftermarket tuner in economy mode. When he adds his little (light) trailer with a single 4-wheeler, it drags his economy down to 12.

A trailer, any trailer, kills fuel economy. I'm guessing it's the drag as much as weight. Try driving around for a week and never going above 60mph and see what it does to your fuel economy. To be sure, 3/4 ton trucks will never do very well wrt fuel economy. Everything is built for work, not economy. My 2WD TBI 1995 C2500 with the heavy 4L80E transmission only gets 11mpg on a good day, without a trailer.
