It would bet that substitute teacher grew up in a family, neighborhood etc where this type of conflict resolution was modeled and the prevailing tactic.

What do you think the press would be doing if this was a white substitute pounding on a black student? There was another incident about a week ago where a black security guard beat up a young white female student and it barely made the news. How many even saw that news report?

No excuse for this. This sub needs serious jail time and a law suit. If this child is Sp Ed she needs execution. A hate crime for sure. IN over 10 years of teaching at-risk kids, I’ve never laid hands on a student. Just send to office or call for removal from class. What an animal.

With what's making the news from cell phone videos from students, imagine what would happen if all classrooms had video cameras running whenever the school was open.

That bitch straight up tried to murder a kid.

Yup. I'm shocked that kid didn't die or become a quadriplegic with that direct stomping on the head/neck..

Just imagine the media attention this would be getting if the races were reversed. Would probably knock the impeachment hearings off the top of the news for a few minutes.

She needs to do some serious jail time.

Wonder what the qualifications need to be a substitute teacher in that school system.

As a retired SPED teacher, I need to point out that there are many conditions that special education students have. Behavior issues and difficulty controlling their emotions are common. Then there’s the game to get the teacher angry. That can explain the videos we see. Was that what happen? I don’t know. I do know “apparently a special-Ed student.” Doesn’t excuse everything.

From everything I’ve read about substitute “teacher” credentials, it seems like being alive and passing a background check are about all that is required. They don’t need any subject knowledge of glasswork, and are mostly glorified baby sitters. This woman needs to see jail time in the worst way.

A special education teenage girl with epilepsy.

A thuggish brute with no formal training (it was a languages class I was told - ebonics?).

The teacher made physical contact with the student first, grabbing her by the neck. You can see her feet lift as she is pressed backward. She only moves to slap the teachers hand away - and the teacher loses it.

The girl suffered a brain injury.

The perpetrator here needs a few years in prison along with her career ended.

The school needs to be sued tidily for bringing in such a violent individual with no self-control. I would also like to see the woman sued civilly as well.

If that was my daughter, her assailant had better hope she doesn't post bail. I would find her and although I don't strike females, I would make a determined exception in her case. I'd take my chances with a jury.

She was teaching him some respect. Like she was taught by her 'daddy. Wait, it is now racist to assume someone knows who their daddy is.

Throwing her shoulder into it, and stomping the student's head? She is going down.

Only $10k bond?

Lankford was released on a $10,000 bond after her arrest last Friday. She could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted as charged.

Released on $10,000 bond while facing possible 20 years in prison.

What are the odds that this (so-called) "teacher" will just disappear?

I hope she does "disappear" just after being seen with an angry mob of parents.

Her weight wasn't in it. It was supported by her base leg and she was falling forward just stomping down with her leg only (while her weight went forward not down), not committed.

Even so, it shows the danger of a stomp to the head which can't move, only compress against a hard surface. Still caused some brain damage.

To stomp properly, have your base leg as close as possible to the target then stomp down while bending your base knee dropping all your weight into it straight down.

I fear that if that had been my kid, I'd be going to prison, myself
