I know the OP's problem is solved.

If it is the other guy's insurance, you are entitled to OEM parts. Stand firm.

If it is your insurance, you probably agreed in the policy to accept aftermarket parts for repairs.

Do like I did - buy a car that doesn't sell well enough to have aftermarket parts makers. There is an aftermarket part for everything Toyota. This is not true with Mazda.
