Fighting the good fight |
You can say that again! Trying to train a brand new employee who doesn't yet know really anything about their job, but is damn sure convinced that the way everyone else is doing it is wrong, is beyond frustrating. I'm all for trying new ways, and bringing in new ideas. But damn, son... You need at least a decent base foundation of experience before you start popping off about how everyone's doing everything wrong and how you know better than all the folks with significantly more training and experience than you. Close your mouth. Open your ears. Learn the way that they want you to do it. And then once you've gained some experience and been able to fully grasp all the facets of that part of your job, you might then start examining whether there might be a better way to do it. [/soapbox] (I just got done dealing with that with a new hire, if you can't tell...) | |||
