Wonder what type of holster and gun if it was an ND from a draw. Glad he's okay. We recently did a warrant with our detectives and they let us uniform guys go in first to secure everyone. Not minority enough!

We had a rookie shoot himself in the thigh “cleaning his gun” . Kid survived it and eventually left to a better department. But some of us older FTOs would unmercifully tease his FTO and email him the block on gun safety or drop it off to him ... I know one who shot himself in the arm after cleaning his gun. Reassembled. Inexplicably inserted loaded magazine. Pulled trigger to check function. Got a click, as expected. Grabbed slide with off hand, with gun pointed parallel with his chest towards the left. Racked the slide to ensure reset. Immediately pulled the trigger again before removing his left arm, and launched a round into his wrist, down the length of his forearm, and out near his elbow. He recovered and eventually returned to duty. Caught a load of crap for a while, but he's actually a decent officer.
