Lowest recoil: Ruger LC Carbine in 5.7x28 caliber. The kick is more from the full pound of steel breech blocks slamming back and forth than the cartridge itself. The action cycling has a slight "bell ringing" sound of its own.
Highest: 12-gauge pump shotgun (pick any) with 1325 fps 00 buckshot. After a few of those I didn't even want to try the 1600 fps 1 oz. slugs. I found some milder buck loads that only hurt on the receiving end and sold off all the hot stuff.

Smith & Wesson 627-2, 5" full lug barrel with 6 shot cylinder. Rapid fires with full house magnums is so much fun...

Oh I’m dumb enough to try it. But for a Sunday afternoon, that is masochistic.

I’ll toss in my $.02:

2 to 3 rounds is about enough to let you know that it wasn’t a good idea and how a pissed off Bruce Lee must have hit.

Let me figure out my schedule, we may have to meet up at that Range on I-355 Wink

That reminds me…I have a S&W mod 28 with a 6” barrel that is an absolute creampuff.
Full house 357s are a joy to shoot! 38spls feel like a rimfire.
That N frame with the added steel to fit the frame REALLY cuts down any recoil.

It’s hard to beat a steel frame Remington 1100 or 11/87 for soft recoil.

My late brothers Remington 1100, and my Winchester 1400. Both in 20 gauge. It felt like the 1400 was just a bit softer but I could shoot those two all day long
