Since you're in AZ, the YakTrax I got for the Mrs might not be the thing.

I also got books on her hobby for her, and some baking supplies.

Choosing the baking supplies was easy - I heard swearing during the creation of cookies, followed by words to the effect of, "This would be so much easier if I had a xxxx".

This gift will be annotated in a stone marker to commemorate when I was once listening when she said something.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

She wanted a hand held vacuum, so I got her a Dyson V7 with all the trimmings.

It's what she wants.

She was thinking a Black and Decker, so I kicked it up a notch. Smile

My wife just got 2 cataract surgeries in the last month, and now has 20/20 vision for the first time in her life.

Happy, happy!

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Well, I have to admit that this year, I will make out better than her. She's getting two new rings she's been asking for, an Apple Watch with GPS and cellular and several kitchen utensils (that I normally don't buy unless she asks).

On Monday, she informed me that I could order the STI DVC Carry that I've been drooling over for the last 6 months. As long as I didn't mind it being my only present. I went along with that idea.

Orange Sapphire earrings. I've seen few to match the color of these, and they are F**ing big too. I gave her the choice of a 1 ct Brown diamond ring or the earrings. Put them both in her hands last week. She went Earrings all the way. 18k white gold setting - she prefers that over real gold color, don't ask me why I don't get it. They "pop" a lot more in the light.

She's gonna get the ring next year. In return, I'll get my usual 4 pack of underwear. All she wants is jewelry and I'm grateful she's easy to buy for. Early in our marriage I'd make things. Leather purses, hacky sacks, hand tooled leather belts, whirly gigs for the kids, etc. That wasn't so popular depending on what it was.

She was OK with the wedding rings I made. Simple silver bands I made for us. She wore hers for years and once she got some money ahead checked that I'd be OK if she went and bought a pretty 1 kt diamond for herself. I said: "your money, do what you want". She's show it off to friends like I bought it but I didn't have any money at the time and wouldn't have wasted it on a ring if I did. Later, I'd try and fail with missed-sized or wrong color clothes and appliances that would make her work easier, etc.

The current system ("buy me something sparkly") takes the pressure off and makes it easy. Next year:

it wont be in time for xmas, but me Truong and I have been texting about a ring she has been in love with. Rather than buy it, I want him to recreate it! This will be our 4th ring from him Big Grin and each one is better than the last (except the engagement ring... that was the first one and is definitely the best)

She’s been wanting a diamond solitaire neckless for a long time. It’s not a big diamond, but I think it’s pretty nice.

My wife has informed me that my shopping for her is complete. I'm sure it's nice stuff.

I get the usual - running shoes and a new triathlon tank top that doesn't accentuate my muffin top.

I'm glad to hear this - I was afraid of the Christmas murder we'd read about in the news.

I got mine an Apple Watch last summer for working out and an Instant Pot for something to open on Christmas. She likes practical gifts.

Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you.
