Thank you Very little ![]() |
That may happen, had my Costco card number replaced, tried to order on the Costco web page and it wouldn't accept the new card, so I went to Amazon and bought the item...

Situations like this cause me frustration and mixed feelings. On one hand, “Do the right thing”, on the other “It’s not my job to correct your errors”... Here’s my story... Order a $600 camera lens from Amazon. Lens arrives, it’s great, I like it. A week after I receive the lens I get an email from Amazon “You ordered the item below, but the package was returned to us by the carrier. We’ve issued your refund. You can find the list of possible reasons why the package was returned to us as undelivered here. If you still want the item, please check your address and place a new order.” “The item below” listed is the camera lens I received a week ago. Check my account, sure enough a refund has processed for the amount of the lens. I check my camera gear closet, lens has not run away and is still there. I chat Amazon, explain I did receive the lens, something must be mixed up. They confirm my info and say “Thanks, we will take care of it”. The next day there is a charge for the camera lens. Three days later, another camera lens is delivered. I chat Amazon, they apologize for the mistake, thank me and email label to return the second lens. I return the second lens. Three days later I receive a credit for the lens I returned. Check my account again, charge/refund, charge/refund. At this point I feel I have fulfilled my moral obligation, and dropped it. The phrase “I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you” comes to mind. I had already spent almost two hours of my time chatting with them and taking 2nd lens to UPS to be returned. Decided I wasn’t going to waste anymore. What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand??? ![]()

Amazon has done that more than once with me. Some small items just must be not worth re-processing. It may also have to do with your history with them. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

And when I try to tell them to pickup the second one, they'll refund it resulting in one free jack. LOL 3/18 Update: Still have free lift sitting in my garage. No word from Costco. No charge on my card.

I'll be that guy. If a company screws up it's up to them to reach out to me to fix it. I've been the good guy too many times trying to help them fix what they don't even know what's wrong and it ends up wasting a lot of my time. Unless it's a local small business they don't even care or say thank you. On that note if it's a local family business I'll always make the effort to set things right. The Amazons, Costcos, Walmarts of the world make so much money they expect mistakes to happen and don't care about correcting them. Instead they price those mistakes into the cost of their products so as far as I'm concerned you've won the "don't know don't care" lottery. I'd keep it for a while and if they don't try to claim it, keep it, sell it, etc.

I’m one of those guys that figures out the price in my head before I get to the register. I used to do this because some stores were really bad about posting things for sale but that little gem of information not quite making it to the register. So I was protecting myself. Over the years as I waste more and more time because stores have figured out how to sell more stuff with less customer service I have lost the bit of give a shit I used to have. If they try to take money from me I point it out. If they don’t know how to push their proper little buttons I just shake my head. Happens all the time. If they won’t train their people I’m not going to train their people. I know many will disagree. That’s fine. I used to agree with you.

I don't know how, but the charge showed up on my credit card today. Interestingly, it shows both a purchase date and a post date of 3/16. I placed the order on 3/12 and reported the card stolen on 3/14.

Woke up today.. Great day! |
Well that should be easier on you for sure! I'm guessing when they went to actually charge CITI automatically put it on the replacement. I have a few credit card subscriptions and usually have my card hacked once a year. Rarely do I ever have to contact them with updated billing information. I believe the CC companies have an agreement with the vendors to allow that while still providing the option to challenge or reject the charges. Enjoy your quickjack! I've had one for a couple years also from Costco on sale and i love it. While I would definitely prefer a full height lift, for the space I have it is an excellent product IMO.

Thank you Very little ![]() |
So if a company double charges you for a purchase, then you are going to wait it out, however long it takes, and see if they ever find that double charge and credit you..... ![]() So Erikas, when you going to install it and put up some pictures of your ill gotten booty, sorry, new lift. ![]() ![]()
