maladatHas anyone seen a double sided hammer with a hard strike face and a soft mallet face?
Yeah, I've spent waaaay too much money at KC Tool.
I just got some NWS straight and bent needle-nose pliers from them that I really like (although the Germans seem to call that type of plier "radio pliers" or "telephone pliers" instead and reserve "needle-nose" for very fine precision pliers).
They have big teeth in the cutout behind the cutters for turning nuts you don't care about rounding over, and a second smaller concave gripping area right in front where you can still get plenty of leverage. The tips have very fine teeth and mate perfectly. They're great pliers.

Gedore's website gives a weight of 690 grams (about 24 ounces) for the 35mm diameter head version, but I suspect that's the total weight rather than the weight of the head.
It's really a deadblow mallet with one metal face rather than a hammer, and from what I have seen, a lot of mallets and deadblow mallets are specced in terms of the face size rather than the weight, which I agree is a bit odd.

AeteoclesSo I ended up getting the small Park Tools hammer.
I couldn't find a non-China version of a similar design. The closest I could find was the Proto Two-Way Hammer, but it has been discontinued, and none of the reputable dealers had them in stock. It appears all of the available inventory online are drop shippers. The Gedore and PB Swiss hammers appear to be more along the lines of dead blow mallets, so not quite what I was looking for.
KCTool also now has the Knipex Twin-Grip pliers* in stock, so I ordered that alongside the NWS 8" Bent Nose "Radio Pliers".

*If anyone is looking at the Knipex Twin-Grip pliers, you should order some soon. They've been out of stock everywhere for quite a while, and I am going to guess that supply chain issues aren't easing up anytime soon.

sjtillI don't know, man, that Gedore is "rückschlagfrei". Looks like just the thing for putting together IKEA furniture.
Needs to be ordered from Germany (actually Austria I guess).
But hey! Got a free pack of German tool stickers for my tool chest!
