Seems Dr Price's ACTUAL private jet costs were in access of $1Mil
He is repaying the Treasury.
I thought he was a good choice given he had such a great plan for appealing and replacing Kenya-Kare.... Seem he really didn't.

B'Bye

Sessions better do something beside giving speeches to police groups or I see him, next.

Lets face it, he fucked up. He cost the US Govt over $300,000 for one flight to Africa and Europe with his wife that had nothing to do with his position as HHS Sec. He cut the HHS annual travel budget of 6.5 million by 600k, then spent over a million for himself when it wasnt necessary. His offer to reimburse is a joke as well, because he only has to cover the cost of the seats (50k ot thereabout), not the entire flight operation.

Good. I think he gave up the Hippocratic Oath years ago. Physicians who live like Kings disturb me.

People used to go into Medicine to help others. It seems that Power and Privilege was his addiction and ultimate downfall.

THE PRICE IS WRONG: Price Pays Price For Government-Funded Travel, Resigns As Health Secretary

Late on Friday, just hours after President Trump hinted that he’d have a decision regarding Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price, Price resigned his position. The resignation came after the Senate’s latest failure to pass health care reform, as well as Price’s ensnarement in a personal scandal in which he utilized government jets for private travel, costing $1,000,000 to taxpayers. Price is the second Trump cabinet member caught attempting to use government airplanes for private travel — earlier this year, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin was denied permission to use government jets for his honey in France, Italy, and Scotland.

But Price flew too close to the sun.

Price had been in the doghouse for weeks. He had Congressional supporters, but the administration felt humiliated, and Trump was reportedly “mad as hell.” President Trump can abide a wide variety of sins, but he can’t abide looking foolish — and he shouldn’t have. Price had to go; even Price’s statement that he would repay the cost for his seat but not the flights themselves appeared to shortchange taxpayers. The next man in the crosshairs: EPA chair Scott Pruitt, who has apparently used government air travel to the tune of $58,000.

The White House stated, “Secretary of Health and Human Services Thomas Price offered his resignation earlier today and the President accepted.”

This in only going to serve emboldening the left to trash every last cabinet member.

The filthy mooch traveled for MILLIONS on our dime and nothing was done.

I don't care what it cost for Price to trave, it's nothing compared to the last trashy administration.

On the other hand, wasn't Loretta Lynch on a government jet the time she met Bill Clinton on the tarmac? Do you remember Nancy Pelosi flying back and forth to California each week on a Gulfstream 3 and 757 at tremendous cost to the taxpayers?

I agree, the cost was excessive but I can understand why a cabinet secretary can't fly commercial with the security threats they could face. Providing security on commercial, which would include screening other passengers, wouldn't be cheap either.

Don't get me wrong. I'd vote for Trump again tomorrow but he has an uncanny knack for surrounding himself with self-centered, indifferent, legends-in-their-own-minds lightening rods. He'd better take care of that Son-in-Law and daughter problem also while he's in the mood. Another private email controversy? Are you fucking kidding me?

As far as Price is concerned, this is all on him and only him.

Something definitely wrong with Tom Price - he was a Congressman for 12 years and would certainly know you can't do that stuff. Also, career feds in the travel office would have at minimum advised against it.

After he was nominated he was hailed as someone who could really help take down O-care as the HHS was goven so much leeway in the original law.

O-care still looks the same to me. Bye.

The one-sidedness is just frustrating. All we hear about are the failings of Trump and his cabinet 24/7 while the previous admin continues to get a pass for doing far worse. Trump is the A-hole for not responding to Puerto Rico fast enough meanwhile nobody gives a crap about the non-response to Benghazi.

The only people being held to account for their screw ups are in the current admin (and that's fine). But, when will there ever be someone held to account for all the abuses and broken laws from the former administration?
