Well, when I was on Active duty, everyone travelled by the cheapest conveyance possible...if you wanted an upgrade-YOU PAYED for it yourself. So you will get no pity from me...

he bought his E ticket to ride, and thought he would never get caught.

Fuck him. We (as taxpayers) paid for this. Fuck this guy.....

Disappointed in him, as he was my congressman. The special election to fill his seat was really awful but was thankfully won by a R. It would have been insult to injury to have lost his seat and then have him resign having done nothing.

Lois Lerner is one that bothers me.

Sadly, another example of how R's really aren't that different than D's. The guys at the top are going to act like entitled pricks, that I have learned to expect. The swamp to me is the entrenched party aparatchiks that infest DOJ, State, EPA, FBI, etc. If we can't find a way to purge this cancer, to restrict the civil service protections and effectively cut the balls off their union, we'll be right back where we started as fast as you can say Obama.

Of course the Dems will be gunning for any Trump appointee or cabinet member. Their goal is to create chaos if nothing else, keep the pot stirred.

I have to think, the ethics & legality of ANY office costs/travel are front & center in that type of job. I don't know the specific details, once it's approved as legitimate, you'd think you're good to go?

I don't like the idea of having to start over every 6 months. Now the 'deep state' will be running the show until a new head gets appointed. That of course is part of the plan.

ALL the crimes committed under Obamas rems, that are not being pursued by Sessions, bothers me!
Trump needs to direct him or get rid of him!
Trump needs to go on the offense against the dems. Where's the Leaker investigation... crickets.
Comey, lynch, cliton, Susan Rice the list goes on and on and on.
There are still a huge amount of Obama people still in place in most of the government.
Dems/Repubs all the same team, all against Trump. He's spoiling their exclusive club and they do not like it...

Man it just seems POTUS admin is a revolving door. I don't understand how they are going to get anything done with all the instability?

Who was supposed to keep this guy in check?

HE screwed up and caused a problem for the president, at whose pleasure he serves. I have no problem with him being fired (sorry, allowed to resign) . I'm not going to defend the guy just because he is on "our team". That's what democrats do. If you're a conservative, you believe in accountability and taking responsibility for your actions.

News reports seem conflicting.

Were these trips business, where commercial airline scheduling doesn't work, or sold out, etc. or personal joy rides?

Some Cabinet officers have planes for their use, State, Justice, Defense, maybe others on as needed basis. I can't see having Rex Tillerson sitting in a departure lounge at Dulles heading to DFW for the weekend. He can afford his own, of course, but what about security?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

From the pics he took it looked like more pleasure than business. Accounts are conflicting of course. Cabinet level folks do get security protection, but not Secret Service. One of the trips he visited his son in Nashville. It was apparently over the top compared to other cabinet members.

This is what accountability looks like. For years many of us, myself included, have bemoaned the lack of accountability from the last "regime" in DC. Well it appears we finally have some. It seems President Trump and his Chief Of Staff General Kelley believe in accountability, and this is a very good thing regardless of what talking points it may give the left.

It's a very real problem no matter which team does it, and it ought not be tolerated at all. It's our money, everyone's money, and not for personal use - ya greedy fucksticks. Visit your kids and see the sights on your own dime. I'm delighted he was fired / resigned. Let that be a lesson to all in government service, I hope the trend continues in earnest.
