Actually making something in America
This shows how far behind the curve we are here in manufacturing in the US.

I’m interested to see how well these sell. At $75 I have doubts.

I ordered one. Destin makes great informative videos on "smarter Every day (e.g., see 'Prince Rupert's Drop') and I've been a long time fan of his. This one is no exception and I felt that he's earned my support for this effort.

We watched that last night. Destin does a good job documenting the trouble he had getting a product made 100% in the US. The problems he describes are troubling.

We'll be purchasing a grill brush, too. He has earned our dollars with years of execellent content.

Yeah...no Frown

No one is paying $74.99 for a grill brush

They want to pay $8 and get it yesterday from Amazon

If i hadn't of just bought a Lodge chainmail scrubber a couple of months ago I'd probably get one. The scrubber was $25.

While I knew some of what he presented, it certainly brings to the fore front just how bad things are for the U.S. Loosing our tooling industry is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. We’ve just about given away the whole enchilada. We have folks who know how to do things dying and there’s no one coming along to learn how to carry on. Sad.

There's no reason for that to be $75, just because it's made in the US.

The loss of tool and die/fabricators/the loss of general manufacturing knowledge to help people get started, is a significant issue.

(EG, I make food, but I do run a plant. A friend wanted to buy a different type of manufacturing company, but didn't know the questions to ask, to evaluate it - machine wear/maintenance schedules/costs/lifespan/lead times/etc etc etc.)

Part of that looks like "we made the product the engineer wanted to design," not "we made the product the market wants."

They’ve gone to pre-order stage as all of their initial stock has sold. So, there’s at least some market.

I think there’s some room there to have a second version. I think I would want one with a square head, non removable. I want to be able to get into the corners of my Weber.
