I found it on a shelf in our kitchen where we keep our car keys. I have been on that shelf several times a day since I lost the tag, but I finally saw the necklace this morning. The shelf is a bit above my eyes. I am so happy to have it back. The new one I ordered arrived yesterday of course.

Somehow on Thursday I lost one of my Army dog tags. I have worn it for 55 years on a silver chain. I don't know if the chain broke or if I simply misplaced it.

If I were to be hypnotized would it help me remember where I put it or at least when I remember having it?

Sorry to hear. I have no idea but if lost maybe check facebook if there is a lost and found section. Sure others will have similar suggestions. I think almost anyone who found would try to locate you too return. Best of luck in finding.

That would bug me too. 55 year old tag, does it have your service number or SSN? My tags were in the SSN era, big no-no nowadays.

I'd give hypnosis a try, sentimental value would make it worth it to me. What have you got to lose?

No.

It would only help you remember where you lost the money that you pay to any quack who claims he can hypnotize you into finding your item.

You have looked between the car seats and center console , right?

Go online and find someone that can fabricate you one. After you pay for it and receive it, I guarantee the lost one will turn up!

It seems obvious, but can you accurately re-trace all your movements last Thursday? I'd concentrate on when you got dressed, showered, undressed, in or out of any awkward positions that could have caused it to stretch and break. Work around the house? On your car?

Dog tags that old would have members service number proceeded with RA (volunter) / US (drafted) / NG (national guard/reserves if I remember correctly....... I did order a new one today for $10.00. I put my phone # on this time.

I have retraced just about everything I did last Thursday. I worked my on-call job and was in 2 new cars. I checked with both dealers and no sign of the tag.

I was actually going to say no, but buying a replacement would certainly. Sorry that’s not an option in this case.

I recently misplaced my keys. Used them to get home the previous evening, couldn’t find them the next morning. Was only in 3 rooms, and tore them apart. No keys. Kept looking for 2 days, no luck. I glanced in the trash can in the kitchen at some point. Nothing. Next morning, trash in the kitchen was full, so I’m walking it to the supercan. I’m arguing with myself whether it’s worth going through the whole trash bag. I thought the odds were slim, but I stopped, dumped it out on the driveway and there, in the middle of everything were my keys.

Part of my reluctance to go through the trash was I didn’t want to accept the possibility I could be that absent minded. But somehow I managed to hear the little voice that was telling me yes, I was capable, and that I really hadn’t looked everywhere yet. I was humbled a bit, but not keyless.

I am missing a Knight's Cross, 2nd class, WWI, for years. Last memory... put this someplace where I won't lose it.

Recently I have lost track of a Boker AK-74 folder. Last thought, it's raining so take it out your pocket... Maybe it's in the glove box. Maybe in a drawer... but no where that is logical for it to be.

Here's the sure fire way I can find things I lost. Whenever I find that I lost something and can't find it, I buy a replacement. Soon afterwards, the old one shows up.

Shoot man, what do you have to lose? Give her a try.

Instead of saying "I can't find my dog tag", say "I can see my dog tag" and visualize it in your mind.

Not hypnosis per se, but an effective mental hack.

So glad you found it. Last week one of the shows I listen to on the Catholic Channel on satellite radio was playing a rerun from June 13 which is St Anthony of Padua’s feast day.
They talked about a cute little prayer I had never heard before.

“Tony, Tony look around something has been lost and can’t be found.”
They had folks calling in about stories of things they had lost and St. Anthony had helped them find.

I had already said one prayer to St. Anthony for you when you had posted this originally and I posted the picture of him but thought I would give the new prayer a try when I heard it later in the week.
