Whelp, it was good while it lasted. Frown

No Conservative/Tory type will ever win there again as we well know the vast majority of 16 year olds are highly brainwashed now and will vote for whoever they are instructed to which of course will be the liberal Labour Party:

I remember one son, was younger back in 2016. He was slightly enamored with the idea of the ‘first woman president’. I reminded him that policies matter, regardless of the candidate’s sex, race, age, whatever.

He’s 21 now and voted absentee for Trump in WI, in the military now.

We allow California to corrupt elections, ranked choice elections, import illegals and count them in the census. Soon Minneapolis will have a Somali Mayor and NY a Communist foreign born mayor.

London is lost, the Germans couldn't bomb it out of existence, the local government will accomplish this for them.

This will be spun as being progressive and egalitarian...the reality as we know is, decision making and politics at that age is by emotion-only. Zero experience for perspective needed, just spastic outbursts and immediate gratification-results only. The one thing I do know in the UK, is a kid can join the Army and work full-time by age-16 so, there is some precedent however as we see in the below post....its a mess.

Beat me to it.

The United Kingdom is entirely fucked.

And this tactic of keeping power to the commies is a pure wet dream for Democrats in this country.

In Scotland, the voting age has been 16 for over a decade, since 2014. So why would this suddenly make you reconsider now? (It was only 18 for national UK-wide elections, since the UK as a whole hadn't adopted that, until now.)

And Ireland isn't part of the UK. Their voting age has been - and will remain - 18.

This.

The brain isn't fully developed until your mid-20s. And the last part to develop is the one that lets you consider the long-term consequences of your choices, and appreciate delayed gratification. (This is why young folks are literally physically unable to fully do those.)

Seems like that'd be something important for voting...

Another implication. The birth rate for ancestral Brits, like much of the Western world is below replacement. I believe 8 major cities in England, including London, now have Muslim mayors. Given the birth rate of the millions of Middle Easterners, the 16 year old voting age will likely make the UK (for all intents and purposes) a Muslim country.

Well for the drama-posturing of course!

I agree that moving the age down rather than up just doesn't make any sense there or anywhere.

With Starmer's incessant war, war, war cry, the Brits I follow are all asking if this also automatically reduces the minimum age for conscription into His Majesty's Armed Forces to 16.

You can volunteer at 16, but this is now about being voluntold.

My British pal said this:

"This Government is in a mess, to put it mildly, and it's ratings have plummeted.

This idea is their desperate attempt to get more votes at the next general election.

I agree it's a bad idea. It could backfire on them however as some of the youngsters are now surprisingly right wing."
