Just happened to be in Las Vegas last weekend for a motorcycle trip and Koenigseeg was doing a top speed test out in Pahrump NV, home of brothels and long straight highways.

They had reported that the road might be closed all day, 5 of us broke off from the larger group and went out to the area, but we missed seeing the run. Koenigseeg thought they'd have to go all day but busted the record on the first pass hitting over 280 MPH one way, and 277 combined to top Bugatti's previous record of 267

So we got to ride down the same road, albeit at 1/3 the speed.

Pretty amazing stuff.
They broke 5 world records that day.

Fastest car in the world: 277.9mph
0-249-0 in something like 33 seconds
Fastest flying kilometer & flying mile
Highest average speed on a public road

The owner of the car also supposedly has 2 Regeras & an AM Valkyrie on order.

Man, that thing was rock steady. I wonder how many RPM the engine was turning at 280mph?

If you have not watched APEX: The Story of the Hypercar on Netflix I highly suggest it especially if you are a Koenigseeg fan.
Has tons of history on the company.

I read that on the outbound run, they maxed the car out at something like 282.5mph. Not sure the RPM, but insane.

I've seen video of their test driver slinging an Agera around on their factory runway in Sweden, it's amazing how stable the cars are.

Shifting gear at 180 and 230 mph in the first video...awesome!

He short shifted a bit at 150 and 210 the second time....still. LOL

Nah, from all that I've seen, the Agera is an extremely stable car at speed.
I did read that the driver said the road was quite nice at 100mph, but started feeling a bit bumpy at 200mph.

If I came into stupid, FU money, an Agera would be top of the list for sure.

I drive that road every day that I work.

It's easy to see why they picked it.

My luck I would sneeze and end up three miles off the road.

Watch this one, very very stable. Around the 1:25 mark.

I think Hennessy will reclaim their record shortly with the Venom F5.

Maybe, but I expect the F5 isn't going to a DD-able as the Agera, nor would I expect it to handle nearly as well.
