I’m guessing I’d be an idiot to put a new head on it. What has everyone replaced their old garage retractable with for working on the car? I’m pretty sure it’s LED and magnetic but specifically what brand or style?

I’ll just turn my reel into an extension cord.

There are bar lights that magnetically affix under the hood and illuminate it all.

I prefer and use headlamps from fenix to put light on the specific area.

I just bought a couple of these to keep in my trucks. I’m going to be doing a transmission drain and filter replacement on my Gladiator and these will work great under the truck.
I paid $15 each on sale…

My only problem with Fenix headlights is that I only have one of them. That’s the beauty of drop lights, they’re always in the garage. I suppose a magnetic bar wouldn’t walk away too often.

These headlamps come in pairs so you can have one charging while you use the other. They've been great since November. Headlamps

If you wear reading glasses or bi/tri focal glasses be sure any headlamp will swivel up and down.. Why, well, when you need the up close reading portion and tilt your head back to get into position the light moves off the subject you need to see. Ask me how I know.

The Magnetic bar light is a good option to having one of the on your head lamps.
