You could almost fit that back together with some good concrete adhesive. "Damaged, but still in the fight".

WADR...Nah. The family needs to FEEL THE HURT. It needs to be replaced in EXACT like-new condition before that little shithole took the hammer to it. And the FAMILY needs to pay for it...none of this "Go Fund Me" bullshit. Mad

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

What's a piece of shit this kid is. He and his family need to feel some pain for this.

What I find funny is the is very little outrage over this. I bet if it had been that turd in Furgeson's memorial it would be considered a hate crime and more riots would follow.

Punk needs to be conscripted, and assigned to tending the flights home of our fallen. That would be the wakeup call he desparately needs.

Gawd no. Please. Nobody in the military would want to put up with this punk.

My prediction he goes to family court, cries he’s sorry and by age 18 he’s free and the case is sealed.

We had a similar case when a pair of brothers tipped over and broke gravestones in a historic Cemetary. Caught, the Julie court that there’d be “creative.” The two would pay for the damage and help repair the gravestones. You know where this is going.

First, the two were absolutely worthless at working. Getting then to show up? Forget it. The Cemetary workers gave up and told the court. They never paid a penny. The court was also told this.

The kids turn 18. The media discovers the lack of work or restitution. Guess what? It was family court it now had no authority. They were adults. No more work and no fine. Even their father got off.

Punishment:
Parents, big, big fine. Say enough for a college education.
Kid, weekends in Juvenile lock up. Ankle bracelet. Weekdays, home by 4 and not allowed out until 6 AM. No evening activities. Violation two weeks jail. Conviction then become an adult conviction and permanent record and after 18 they still owe the time spent in juvenile.

As mad as I was at first I have tempered that seeing as the kid is 14. Not saying a 14 year old can't be a piece of shit, but not all 14 year olds who do something stupid are. Granted this was crazy stupid.

To me the punishment should depend on the kid. If he is an otherwise good kid I'd lean more toward the public service route. Particularly towards making him spend time at a VA clinic or otherwise working with disabled vets. Maybe the kid learns some respect. If the kid is already a known shithead with previous encounters or otherwise just a total bag of ass then yeah, use this to hammer his ass.

A former Navy SEAL who served alongside a slain member of the force for which a New York memorial is dedicated said Saturday that the teen allegedly responsible for vandalizing it needs to learn from his mistake.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested Friday for allegedly vandalizing the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Park in Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island.

Lt. Murphy was a Medal of Honor recipient whose heroism inspired the feature film "Lone Survivor."

Marcus Luttrell said Saturday that the teen responsible needs to understand what Murphy meant to his community and his country.

He said that the boy needs to be cut some slack though he should work to pay for the damage.

"Take that kid, send him out here to me. I'll put him to work and show him what kind of man Mike was and the legacy that he left behind," he said.

"We all make mistakes and we push past them. That's how we become the men that we're bound and destined to be."

The Suffolk County Police Department last week released a photo of the shattered granite stone with an image of Murphy on it, asking for any information.

The unidentified teen was arrested early Friday at his home.

Luttrell said Saturday that the memorials of fallen soldiers across the country are reminders of how special the soldiers they honor are.

He also said that Lt. Murphy would have told the teen that he needs to "’fess up and pay up" for the damage he caused.

"Make no mistake, [the teen] messed up and I'm not giving him a pass on that," Luttrell said.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

A quote from a local forum I really liked...

quote:
(Newsday)Within hours of the vandalism being discovered, offers of rewards leading to an arrest were made by Suffolk Crime Stoppers and Brookhaven officials. Cuomo, saying he was “appalled and disgusted” by the memorial’s destruction, said the state would “fully fund” its replacement.

quote:
The State doesn't fund a replacement. The People of New York do.
Cuomo - you're a douche. Don't take my fucking money and say YOU paid for it.

Asshole.

Never!!!

I am sure their are ten of thousands willing to replace it.

Those who do these types of things need to found and severely punished.

Part of his punishment should be spending several hours a week cleaning and polishing the replacement memorial.

Just as a FWIW... unofficially (because there's no way for the average person to confirm it), the word locally is this is the kid. And the kid is dead. Hit by a car the other day.

Teen killed
