Thank you Sig Forum for being an escape from everything going on today. I come on here just about every night and find some positive distraction, which settles my mind. Good therapy.

Absolutely, many here should heed your advice.

Between the politics and the virus many here have been teetering on the edge and it has not been pretty.

Hopefully some here can apologize privately to the well thought of members and go about repairing their standing here.

Amen brother.

I don't do social media, and don't watch broadcast media. Lately I've even stopped reading my daily newspaper.

But, I'd really go off the rails if it wasn't for Sigforum.

So very true! This is my all in one news/therapy site. I appreciate what Para has built and runs, and all the wealth of knowledge and good that comes from the members.

This is a timely posting.
I was in a car wreck 12-21-20, airlifted to a trauma center hospital, where I spent 4 days in ICU. My truck rolled over 5 times. The State Trooper told my wife he had never seen anyone live after a wreck like that. I am lucky to be alive. The airbags never deployed.

My heart quit twice during surgery, and my kidneys quit. They put me on temporary dialysis for a couple of days to get them started again.

My wife wasn't allowed to be with me, after they transferred me out of ICU, I found out my smartphone had been sent with me. Borrowing charger cords, it was my only link to sanity. I read Sig Forum daily , all throughout the day.

I was very fortunate. I escaped the wreck, with a dislocated shoulder, which the hospital reset. I came home last week, and have been just resting up, physical therapy comes here to help with my shoulder.

To add to my malaise, earlier this week, my sweet 15 year old Shiba Inu, Copper, had to be euthanized , after finding out he had a brain tumor. I am just so sad.

So, that's my goings on during the past weeks.

But Sig Forum is the place where I come to read the news and things of interest. Thanks to all the members who make it what it is, and to Para for having us here.

I don't come to Sig Forum to escape - I come here to find out what's really going on in the world. It's one of the last remaining places you can go to get supported opinions and vetted information on just about anything.

Sunset - good to hear you are mending and condolences on the loss of your dog.

I do not post anywhere near as much as I read - but I certainly agree - sigforum is my sanctuary and my coffee shop. I can take a break and enjoy nearly any subject you can think (showing diversity is not all bad) yet I can always rely on unvarnished news, assessments and truth should I wish to delve in (hence my lower posts - I stick to the shallow end most times). My whole being is rocked to the core at what is happening in our country and this site gives me brevity and clarity in a time I sorely need to connect with others and know I am not alone.

Sunset_Va - very sorry for the loss of your fur baby. Glad you pulled through that, hoping you recover fully and come out the other side better than you went in.

And wanted to add - damn glad to see Para posting again! Thank you for all you do providing this internet home away from home.

I couldn’t agree more. That plus the fact that the depth of knowledge here is unrivaled makes this a great place to check in often.

The other point I’d like to make is that it is also one of the few places in cyberspace where reasonable discourse can take place.

Thanks Para and company.

Thank you very much. In addition to the bad pain my shoulder was in, they had put a breathing tube in my throat while in ICU. When they removed it, my throat was in pain too, and still is. It affected my voice, so I wasn't able to talk to people clearly
And there was no such thing as sleep. I bet I only got to sleep 3 hours the whole time I was hospitalized.

There are a lot of nice medical workers. But many are very, very, aggravating.

I come here to fight the gas lighting that's been going on. Otherwise, I would believe what the outside world is telling me about how despicable I am.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." YES! Thank you to Para and all y’all fellow members for making this a bastion of sanity in a really f’ed up world.

I don’t post much, but I’ve been a member for over 20 glorious years, because I always learn something, or get a laugh, or get the straight scoop on world events.

I don’t have Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, so this forum is my #1 go-to escape.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
