I first donned a uniform in July 1989 at the age of 18. Today, I commenced terminal leave after having the privilege to wear the cloth of our republic one final time! Gentlemen, thank you. For clarification, 30 years as a Surface Warfare Officer in our Navy. Turned over command of my Task Force last month and completed administrative details in Norfolk today. My bride and I are headed to Maine and looking for a place at the end of a long dirt road. Might have to track down that old goat PHPaul and splice the mainbrace while swapping sea stories.
