Whoa! 18 yo sailor to Commodore! I guess the Navy has mustangs too! Thanks for keeping us safe.

Come out to Cheyenne for Frontier Days and I’ll introduce you to the many missileers from F.E. Warren AFB who are part of the Military Committee at CFD.

Yup. I'm a prior enlisted retired naval officer. That said my enlisted time was Army not Navy. Still... Big Grin

Guys, thanks again.

For clarity, the first time I put on a uniform was at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Although I affectionately refer to Kings Point as a four year federally funded VOTEC, to be clear I wasn’t an LDO…unlike Balze, I just couldn’t find a job sailing in the commercial blue water fleet back in the early 90s. Instead after graduation, I activated my reserve USN commission to go to sea and “keep me in blue jeans and tennis shoes” as the old man would have said…time then slipped away as I skidded across the oceans and I loved my job…hence 34 years in uniform = 4 years at Academy plus statutory limits of 30 years Commissioned (as USN CAPT) without prior enlisted service.

To cross a couple of threads, I subsequently realized my dreams since I was just three feet tall; sailing on mother, mother ocean AND shooting $hit down in outer space…

RIP Jimmy and savor that “last mango” brother, always the Captain AND the Kid!
