You’re not being biased at all. That’s how I’ve always interpreted them as well.

No. I stay out of frame for both ground and air shots. I'm 1k yards from subject.

I’m sorry to hear about this, but hope/am glad that you’re OK!

Artie, sorry to hear about your neighbor. Regardless of what lead up to all that, it sounds like it sucks all around.

This infuriates me.

"Explosives" could be road building stuff, weapons grade stuff, or the guy could have just enjoyed tannerite.

So far from what I'm seeing, I'm not a fan of the LE response. When arriving to the scene and discovering a crabby ass old white man, can't I just conclude the welfare check a success and move on? I would think the homeowner has the right to point a firearm at whomever is trespassing on his property. I'm from Central FL, people don't move to Lake County to be social butterflies.

That would be my interpretation, having an 85 year old father that lives on his own, I've thought about having one done on a few occasions when he didn't answer his phone.

Fair point, but just because the subject's alive does not necessarily mean they're OK. What if he was holding a firearm that he had originally planned to use on himself? It requires a bit more interaction to confirm the welfare check. (I personally know of a situation where the responding LEOs were about 5 seconds too late.)
