TRAFFIC ALERT: I-20 suffers major failure, buckles under drivers in DeKalb

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Interstate 20 westbound will be closed for an indefinite amount of time as crews figure out the cause of a massive road buckling. (Flat Shoals Road)

Viewers sent photos of a large, cracked bump in the HOV lane between the Flat Shoals Road exit and Gresham Road overpass.

TV said a motorcycle was down near the hump. Imagine hitting that at 70+ on a motorcycle!

Motorcyclist is in critical condition, bike totaled. Supposedly contractor was pressure testing the line.

Apparently a motorcyclist hit is as it was beginning to buckle. Supposedly was thrown 10-15 feet. In critical condition?

This is going to really play havoc with the traffic in conjunction with the I-85 collapse.

Now all we need is a major outage on I-75!

Isn't the buckle supposed to be on the Beltway?

WSB reporting contractor was filling an abandonned gas line with cement. The pipe failed due to pressure. That report was in the 4pm hour.

Not sure where this is at as far as Atlanta goes. But Jeez if its close its gonna be a mess down there with the NRA convention coming up at the end of this month.

It is fixed as of today per local news. Lanes open and waiting for re-striping.

Then we got the good news of I-285 flooding today as well.
