Same reason I always carry a flashlight and a gun. I might need it.

I'm usually in the kitchen w/ kitchen shears. Do not underestimate the kitchen shears. Because when I leave the kitchen, they are shear terror to most everything. I've got the Cutco brand that I've used on a partially frozen 20lb turkey spine.
For regular stuff I go for my leatherman supertool. But it's possible I opened the leatherman package w/ kitchen shears.

It's much handier than carrying a can opener, bottle opener, pair of forceps, slot head screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, file, toothpick, wire stripper, corkscrew, and cigar cutter separately. Thank you, Victorinox.

I feel naked without my knife. I left my pocket Spyderco in the car, but forgot about my keychain size Swiss Army knife, scissor, file, toothpick and tweezer. They confiscated it at Providence Park. I don't think I ever used the file or tweezer.....

I always say, "You never know when you might come across a steak that needs slicing."
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Apparently it’s because you twatwaffles are always asking me to borrow it.

This. I am always asked to open something as someone doesn’t have a knife and they know I do. Or, they struggle to open something and I whip out my knife and open it and they ask why I carry a knife. Back to original response of things need to be opened.
I won’t forget when I was in the private sector and worked for the first boss I can say was actually a horrible human being and super far left liberal. He was trying to open something and couldn’t find scissors so I whipped out my knife and opened it. He literally freaked the hell out asking why I had a weapon. He tried taking it to HR and there was no policy to prohibit me. I actually even had gone to HR to get it documented I could carry my firearm prior to him ever getting hired and being my boss. He was so pissed there was nothing he could do. The day I quit, because I could not take him anymore, he had security escort me as I was later told he was afraid I might do a mass killing. Seriously dude???
