Today, they put up the cage so they wouldn't fly off the building prematurely.

There is a time lapse button just right of the LIVE button at the bottom.

So, how many falcons fletched from Richmond, VA site?

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) monitors a pair of Peregrine falcons that nest in downtown Richmond, Virginia. The falcons have nested at the Riverfront Plaza building since 2006, and the DWR provides a live stream of the nest via the Richmond Falcon Cam.

Fledging Success at the Richmond Nest

Between 2003 and 2016, the original Richmond falcon pair produced 61 eggs, with 31 chicks surviving to fledge (reach flight age).
In 2017, the original male produced three eggs with a second mate, but only one chick survived to fledge.
No eggs were produced in 2018 or 2019.
A new falcon pair produced four eggs in 2020, with one chick fledging.
Since 2021, the current pair (female 95/AK and male 59/BM) has successfully fledged four chicks each year.
In total, the Richmond falcon nest has fledged at least 37 chicks since 2003.

Monitoring and Conservation Efforts

The DWR's Richmond Falcon Cam allows researchers and the public to observe the falcons' nesting cycle. The DWR also coordinates a "FledgeWatch" program to monitor the chicks as they take their first flights. This helps track the falcons' movements and ensure their safety. Peregrine falcons are listed as a state-threatened species in Virginia, and the DWR is actively working to support their recovery. The Wildlife Center of Virginia also plays a role in falcon conservation, rehabilitating injured birds.

The Riverfront Plaza building, where a falcon nest is located, has a height of approximately 124 feet (38 meters). Specifically, the falcon nest is on the 21st floor

Enjoy watching this from time to time.

Hayabusa is the Japanese word for this specific raptor.

It is also the word Suzuki chose for their strongest and fastest bike.

They have been eating a lot of dove this year.
One year it was pigeon on the menu.

I check in on them every day. They use to have a camera at Smith Mountain Lake monitoring the Osprey nest. But a Great Horned Owl was snatching the babies at night so they took the camera system down.
