Happily Retired
| I've watched coyotes in the wild for years. As others have said, they will much prefer to go under or thru a fence. Coyotes can jump but that is not a natural move for them, except when startled, at least that has been my experience. If a coyote really wants to get somewhere they will most likely figure out how to do it. They are extremely adaptive.

| My back area is 4' field fence with two strands of barbed wire on top equaling 6' total. That didn't stymie coyotes at all. I added another strand to make it 7' high. Upon inspection I've found hair on the top strand, they're still trying, but leaving a bit of themselves in the process.
