If she has social media, check out Armed and Feminine on FB. She has lots of good info and also has stuff on YouTube.

That’s a really good book as it lays out the serious responsibility that comes with CCW. But I agree there isn’t a substitute for consistent practice.

enidpd804She needs to find a solid instructor and go more than a few times. Rangemaster (Tom Givens) certified instructors have the highest signal/noise ratio of any I'm aware and area all over the country. I realize she doesn't feel ready for live fire yet, but no good instructor would do that immediately.
Is your friend anywhere near York, PA? Cindy Bowser is well-considered and may fit your needs.

SportshooterThis is for when a woman gets her CCL.
Your years, my wife would only carry her shooter in her purse, the most unsecured place on earth.
Just recently, I got her a Remora holster, one of those holsters that will stay in place inside a waistband because of it’s tackiness.
Thanks to Remora, she now carries IWB where she has a chance of getting to it if she needs it.

KMitch200Thanks for the mention of the Remora. Maybe I can get my wife to relocate OUT of her purse.

My wife has been talking about the Remora with her sister who has been using a purse with a pistol pocket. Something happened recently that now has her thinking about other carry options. She knows of a lady who was on her way into a Target store when someone zipped by on a skateboard, snatched her purse and disappeared.

CooksterHi Trio,
Maybe head over to 'Relic Hunter Firing Line' up in Coplay and introduce yourself to the owner and his wife.
They are both friendly folks and run nice business and clean indoor range. I have observed that their female employees are armed and I am guessing that they would happy and willing to answer questions, concerns, etc., that your friend may have.
Of course, you would have an oppty. to rent some range time and do some shooting as well while you are there!

sigcrazy7If training is an option, Gunsite’s “Ladies Pistol 1” & “Ladies Pistol 2” would be excellent. After both are taken, it’s equivalent to completing Pistol 250. These classes are taught by women for women.
On a side note...
You may want to edit your title and change “sources” to “resources.” The former means a place where someone can get a woman, the latter is for ways to help a woman.

SRSorry if this is a duplicate of info in prior postings (I didn't read through them). I use to teach concealed carry and he's some resources I found.
Cornered Cat is a blog with excellent info for ladies that are considering a handgun and/or carrying a handgun.
http://www.corneredcat.com This lady has a number of videos that cover options for carrying a handgun – both clothing and holsters. (Warning, you might not want to pull up the videos at work - some are defiantly PG-13 and will make your coworkers wonder what you’re up to.) Start with this video that she made:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogGBPVk5GQk You can search falaphotography on you tube to find other videos she made regarding holsters and clothing. She also reviews equipment.

FYI I had to ditch the Remora, it caused a severe rash on my side, had to stop using it as it was not compatible with my skin, maybe due to the heat and amount of sweat in FL, but it's a no go....

giz55792Have them watch the videos for Neil and Kim at Geauga Firearms. They cover a lot of topics, most recent was how to carry while pregnant.

PoacherI recently finished reading "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin de Becker and recommend it for everyone, especially women. He goes into instinct, why we have it, and why we should listen when it talks to us.
I gave it to my 30 yo daughter to read.

fpuhanThe Well-Armed Woman has already been mentioned. There's also

I will feel more confident with my response to her tonight.

henryaz Our local club has had a "ladies' pistol class" going on ten years now. It is taught by an elderly couple with a lifetime of shooting experience and teaching (they have shot just about every pistol discipline there is, and still do). Husbands are not allowed to attend and observe. I'm not even a husband of anyone in the class, but I am a club Range Safety Officer (as are the instructors), and I got kicked out when I sat to watch for a bit, after I did a bit of shooting on my own on an adjacent bay.
Many of their students have graduated on to participating in our pistol matches, and do quite well. Others are there just to learn gun acquaintance, safety, basic shooting, etc. because they carry. The women graduates I shoot with in the matches are primo safety savvy.

Lol, I don't know how I missed your hint previously, but I will certainly change it.
