I was stuck on HWY 44 West for 1.5 hours and had to park in the lower lot. Folks parked on both sides of the road going to the lower lot and traffic was a mess. When we left there was little room left in the lot and say traffic backed up for several miles getting in. Rain came down pretty heavy and I would have loved to see how the guys with the two Telsa's in the lower mud lot got out today. I found a few parts, but didn't really find any deals. Ammo prices were stupid. I tried to get a Huey ride today, but they said it would be late in the day before I would get on so didn't risk it. Good luck to those going on SAT.

It was beautiful weather today. My wife and I arrived at 7am in the line for the Huey ride. We were about 75-80 people back so we knew we’d make it if we just stuck it out. 6 hours later we were on flight 21 and they were calling for 18. Six hours standing pretty much in one place, no place to sit, no shelter from the sun. We didn’t have much left in us after the ride so we left shortly afterwards. We were fortunate to pack next to the admission gate up front where you pay. One of the first trips I took with my wife before we married was Knob Creek Machinegun Shoot. Fifteen years later we we able to attend the last one and ride the Huey together. Sad to see it end but I don’t ever want to attend anything that crowded again. I was able to film the ride with a GoPro. Once I stitch it together with barbed wire and JB Weld I’ll try and share it here.

Pure Pandemonium. I was told 8500 attended Friday and assume Saturday was over 10K. Mud in the campground and last I heard there were about 500 campers. I'll try to get some pics up, and a little video. Was so crowded I couldn't get much at the night shoot.
Was told we made it the furthest through the mud in the campground. It was wet and all torn up. 2 tractors and a skylift were working well into the night. I was privileged to meet the owner, who pulled us out so we could leave on Saturday.
I'll get some videos up of the night shoot once I figure out how. When the mini gun goes it looks like 1 continuous laser beam, like you could walk across it.
WDRB News last night covered the Machine Gun Shoot and mentioned that they had over 25,000 in attendance. The staff also left if open about doing it again in the future. Hopefully it wasn't the last one.

Talk of the show was that offers were being made to carry the torch. Buyouts, rental, whatever. It's such a dug in thing. Where else would all this go down? 15 year wait to get a spot on the firing line. There had to be 20 M2 50 cals. Can't swing a dead cat without hitting a couple 1919s or M60s. The Vickers and water cooled line up is always there. Where do these people go otherwise? Under that canopy are parts and expertise I'm not sure gathers anywhere else on planet earth.
Also, worth mentioning there was a mid show announcement where heads were bowed and a prayer was said. More than once. The state of this country was addressed, the sentiment was unanimous. The anthem played. There was a feeling in the air. A good feeling.
Also, walking in day 1 right at the gate. A guy with a clean haircut, low socks and shorts came shoulder to shoulder with his phone out saying he needed to use my phone cause his didn't have service to call his buddy. Took one look at this guy and said, "You a Federal Agent?" He looked like those FBI douchebags from a few weeks ago. My buddy let him use his so I joked with him they got onto his phone instead of mine. His reply was "no but I'm Air Force." In his defense, cell service was spotty.
I went to the fall shoot many years ago. Words cannot describe the shoot adequately. I hope they continue or someone takes over to keep it going. I want to go again someday.

Instead of my lousy videos, this one is 100 times better and covers it. I hope this gent doesn't mind us appreciating his work. They use real deal explosives here. They blew a jeep off the mountain one year. Truly a sight to see.
