Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors by James Hornfischer
untold history of the WWII battle of Leyte gulf/Samar where a huge Japanese navy force including their largest battleship got improbably, impossibly routed by some US escort carriers and destroyer escorts. Amazing story and a good audible listen.
