We just got a 65" LG from Costco for $850. Pretty sure this is the model. Costco doubles the standard warranty from 1 to 2 years. Also, if you have a Citibank Costco card they double the 2 years to 4 years. So that's a standard 4 year warranty with purchase. Further, for about $60 you can also add another 3 years on top of that for 7 years total!
Anyhow, I went with the LG based on some friends who've owned them and the reviews. I've traditionally been a Samsung and Sony guy. The LG replaces a Samsung we've had for quite some time. The Samsung was over $1200 new and only 40". My Sony's were both XBR tubes and lasted a long-time, but both had issues eventually. The Samsung also had some bugs over the years but has lasted close to a decade thankfully. It's going outside on the patio soon.
I also bought a Cheetah brand adjustable wall mount from Amazon that is really quite sweet. For about $35, here's a link if you need one.

Did you try the Mute button?
Press and hold the mute button on the VIZIO remote for 3 to 5 seconds. Some VIZIO TV's have a "Mute Screen" feature that turns the screen off if you are streaming an audio application (Pandora, Spotify, etc) and don't want the screen on. To activate/deactivate this feature, hold the mute button for 3-5 seconds.
My 65” downstairs is my 3rd one, all replaced under warranty. When this dies out of warranty I’m not ever buying Visio again.

The 65 inch LG at costco is what I am looking at. It won't fit in the entertainment center so the project just expanded. Currently have a 32 inch in place of the vizio 47 that died. Thanks for the info

Id go Samsung. They repaired my DLP after the warranty was over for free and I wasn't the original purchaser. Cant beat that for service.

I gambled on a TCL model for the master bedroom back in 2010 and it's still going strong! TCL L32HDF11TA 32" 720p 60Hz LCD
That said I'm still running a vintage 2005 Mitsubishi WS-65513 65" rear projection HD unit. It doesn't have HDMI or other amenities but I still manage. Hopefully I'll get a few more years out of it. But when the need arises I'll be looking at TCL and Samsung.

I did try that. I’m pretty sure it’s the power supply as it now “comes on” for a few seconds and then you can hear it “blip” off.
I haven’t ordered the part yet....honestly I haven’t missed it much. TV is such a huge time suck...
I had a Visio that did the same thing, I replaced the power supply board twice in three years and then gave it to my son-in-law with the link so he can buy more power supplies. Decent TV otherwise.
Samsung family here. 4 of 5 rock stars. First was not, but that was 11 years ago.

I have a 50" Vizio that I bought Jan 2013, it has been flawless!! I have it hooked up to Comcast and also have a 2nd Gen Apple TV connected to watch Netflix and hulu. When it dies I will most likely get a Samsung 55".

As far as replacing I like Samsung...though I haven’t shopped lately.
However, I’ve had a similar problem with my moms Vizio. Research it if you care too. There is a video card you can replace to perform a repair. It was plug and play and, obviously, much cheaper than replacement.

My 45 inch Vizio will be 7 years old in November. I always turn the contrast and brightness levels down so the set will last longer. I have had zero problems with the set.

My Daughter has a 65" Samsung curved 4K fed by a Yamaha 1050 receiver. It is absolutely stunning with live sports..........especially the Packers.

My Sharp did the same thing. Tech support actually answered the phone. Simple but an unplug and restart actually fixed it.

The mount is heavy duty, but I found the wall studs were not in alignment with my vaulted ceiling. As the mount is 17 inches wide, I need to get one that accomodates 24 inch stud wall for the overlap. Something to think about
