I had Sirius XM a few years ago and it was okay but cut out too often while driving so I cancelled. They offered me all kinds of great deals but I didn't bite. Last year they showed up again and offered ~$70 for the entire year, including car and other devices. I found with unlimited data I can use the phone app in the car rather than over satellite and not suffer the cut outs when under trees and clouds etc. It's renewal time and it was going to go to $17/month. Anyhow if you are on Sirius, just try to cancel. I was on chat cancelling and got the offer of $6.06/month. That's way less than they advertise. I'm wondering if I could get them even lower. I mainly use it for Patriot radio and Ozzy's Boneyard (although if Ozzy's plays "runnin free or balls to the wall one more time I may shoot myself). These go to eleven.

$37 for 6 months w/ taxes/fees included. I play the 'game' every 6 months and threaten to cancel. ------------------------------------------------ 9/11/01 Never Forget "In valor there is hope" - Tacitus

Told cops where to go for over 29 years… |
That’s the way they work. You can only keep that price if you tell them you will cancel instead of renew. Total pain in the ass, but at least the first person you talk to is able to set it up these days. It used to be you had to go up 1-2 levels before they would do it. Don’t know why they keep the game going, guess a lot of folks fall for it. What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

I’ve had it since 2007 and these days average just under $6/mo., but I do have to play the cancellation game with the retention specialists annually. -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A

Thank you Very little |
used to have the service, with the advent of Pandora, Spotify and Amazon Prime couldn't justify having XM

I seem to recall the first time I cancelled they only offered the best deals after I was already cancelled. I got a few phone calls with great deals. But they didn't have the app and the satellite in the car cut out so much it was more annoying than enjoyable. These go to eleven.

It's free for me but I wouldn't pay for it, if I didn't have it I would stream from Prime Music

Most important rule is NEVER GIVE THEM A CREDIT CARD. They give you what looks like a great deal with the small print proviso that when your time is up, they will automatically renew you at "the then prevailing price" or words to that effect, usually about $240 a year charged to your card. When I see its about to expire, I call them. They usually find some special promotion and I pay by check. They are crooks of the first order.

I have prime music. But I do like having a DJ for some reason. I also listen to news on Sirius so that's not an option on Prime. (Patriot Radio)
Yeah they have my credit card. I had in my calendar a reminder to call to cancel. But surprisingly I got 2 emails a month before renewal reminding me that renewal was coming and to check my subscription plan. These go to eleven.

The only reason I still have satellite radio for my Jeep is that I like having the ability to hear news, etc when I'm in the desert or high mountains well out of range of any terrestrial radio or cell service. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

^^^^ Its a must for the more remote areas of the Yoop, too. And our radio stations suck. I get the 6 dollar a month deal too. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Next time use a pre-paid card and only load enough for the subscription. They will contact you for renewal since they cannot charge the card. Now you can negotiate.

Great for long distance driving. I really liked having Sirius but was unwilling to pay the higher rates and unwilling to play "the game". Can't stand companies that do business like that. I dropped them for good. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

That’s good to know, I have 3 month free trial from buying a new vehicle ending in January. When they contact you for the renewal you tell them to just bill you and mail check?

No they give you an email and letter before they charge your card. Just call them and cancel when you get the notice and you can get the 60 dollar rate. I have done it 6-7 times. There are 3 kinds of people, those that understand numbers and those that don't.

I also tell them that Patriot is the only reason I subscribe (which is true). The only other station that gets any play on my radio is occasionally the 80s channel. $6/month is well worth it for Breitbart, Webb, and Wilkow. (Hannity and Levin I can get on terrestrial radio). -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A
