Yeah, my delivery guys have been really overworked lately. The other day I had 2k bullets delivered and pulled in just as the guy was getting out of the truck. He said, "careful, that's heavy". I said thanks for the heads up. Smile

And, I was definitely reading too fast, because I skimmed the title and read "I just gave the UPS gal coke". Wink

Due to home officing for so long, I’m like the family dog when someone enters my front yard.

Last summer, USPS pulled up out front to deliver a package. It’s a nasty, humid, hot day (ie worse than normal Houston August day) and USPS gal is looking ragged. I opened the door and noticed the gal had sweated through her shirt so I inquired if she’d like a Gatorade or a water?

She was a little stunned and then I could tell she was trying to make her mind up on which one so I added, “it’s Ok to say both.”

She smiled and said “both”

When I returned she thanked me profusely and added that the AC in the truck was busted and she had run out of water a few blocks ago.

I got the idea from a friend: During the holiday rush, I put out a tray with bottled water and an assortment of snacks for our mailman and delivery drivers.

One UPS guy we had for a few years commented once that I was always drinking great beer so I went back in the house and brought him one. We got great service from that guy. Any time I was home when he delivered a package I took him a beer.

My wife gave a Delivery Dude driver a beer the other night. Man was he happy!

Not so much me as my wife. We leave a small Christmas gift for the sanitation truck crews and postal workers. Once when the mail van broke down in front of our house in the summer, my wife was quick to take a bottled water and a soft drink to the mailwoman while she waited. We’re also very mindful when the HVAC guys or electricians are up in the attic in the warmer days and offer hydration.

Delivery people are working extra hard these days. I rarely drink sodas, but bought some just to give out to them when I can catch them.

It costs so little to be kind, and I think it made her day.

the USPS, UPS and Fed Ex Express drivers/delivery peeps have free access to my shop fridge and restroom,

I would include Fed Ex ground, but those contracted retards don't seem to last long enough to get to know them

I was very glad for you, then I reread the title and realized you actually typed "coke" and not "poke". Smile

I'm sure you gave her a smile, too.

Last summer my mailman gave me his Craftsman riding mover for parts ... found all it needed was a new head gasket. Gave it back to him. Now he delivers all my mail to the house instead of the mail box down the street at the corner. Most of the time I am around and we have a good chat.
