I believe it's been bow, cross bow, and muzzle loading season for a while now but tomorrow begins gun hunting. Here's one neighbor's method to hunt them.

Hope he gets a good body count and turns you on to some venison.

Well, if he doesn't get any, that would be a mystery.
Looks like he's set to kill as many as are stupid enough to keep showing up and not wonder why there's so much red stuff on the ground.

It's a great plan. With a small propane heater inside that blind, it's perfect.
Warm, dry, out of the wind, rain, and snow.
With a plastic funnel screwed inside the corner, and some vinyl tubing with a drilled hole in the floor, it's even equipped with a urinal.

That's illegal as hell here. Jail time, a big fine, and they'll also seize any equipment you used to do it, including your vehicle.

Really. Who cares. I have a blind like that and bait. I have the stands. I have ground blinds. I still hunt too.

My point is this. Hunting is like the second amendment fudds who think it is about hunting.
Who am i to judge how someone hunts anymore than what they believe about the second amendment and ar 15s.

Baiting isn't legal here during hunting season either, nor are spotlights, but that doesn't stop them. I heard a rifle shot near by about 7:45, well after dark. May be using night optics. They use game cameras to monitor where and when the deer move on trails and fields near their stands and feeders.

No issue with it as long as it’s considered harvesting meat. That’s not hunting in my opinion but he still has to set the bait, get out there and put down the animal and harvest the meat. I don’t think it’s a bad situation to be in, but I think “hunting” is a stretch.

Hard to say if he’ll get any.

We owned 140 acres we used for “hunting”. We spent a lot of time, effort, and money clearing trees, picking up rocks, and planting food plots to attract deer. It took a few years, but it was working. We had a couple big bucks showing up at our food plots. First light opening day, we heard nearby shots. It wasn’t us, it was the neighbor on the other side of the creek the was the property line. Those bucks never made it to our food plots because the were bedding on the neighbor’s property.

That was the end of it for us. The point being, owning a small piece of property limits how much what most people think of as “hunting” you can actually do.
