I cannot think of anything kind to say about him given his attempts to sabotage the Heller ruling, so as a courtesy I will say nothing further.

RIP, but he won't be missed.

Stevens was considered a "moderate" when Republican President Gerald Ford nominated him. Beware of "moderates"!
... in 2018, he wrote an op-ed for the Times, entitled, "Repeal the 2nd Amendment."

And last October, Stevens emerged to say that then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was unfit for the bench -- an extraordinary rebuke from a retired justice.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."

He wanted to repeal the 2nd and ruled every way he could against it but would say he wasn't a judicial activist.
