Imagination and focus become reality |
Now I am trying to go from memory here, but I recall a two hour Walker Texas Ranger TV movie that came out in about 2005. This was a few years after the series ended. At the end Alex, who has just married Walker, gets shot and appears to be seriously injured or dying. And if I recall, that was it. End of story. It made you think that the show was coming back where Alex lives and Walker keeps on kicking ass. A disappointing ending for sure since the show didn't come back after that!

Thanks for the good memory. An older woman I worked with years ago used to love that show. She was the salt of the Earth. I too was far too sophisticated and didn't watch it.

This thread brings a big smile. My dad loved this show in the 90's. It was quite often, he'd be over there fiddling with the television after dinner telling us he was turning on "Texas Bob" Why he called him that, I don't know. But I sure enjoyed the memory this morning. I may have to watch the show now.

I also long for the simpler times, will have to add WTR to my watch list. Last year I watched every episode of the Rockford Files. Excellent entertainment.

It seems that Chuck Norris is a real class act. I recently read an article where he was in Utah opening up a new Maverick gas station and him and his wife went out of their way to visit a Downs special needs kid that was a huge fan of Walker Texas Ranger. They actually drove to his house and spent an hour signing all his Walker Texas Ranger copies. I wish I could find the article but I can't right now.

I too have watched H&I for some time since cutting my cable a few years back. But fairly recently I have found myself watching more of the Grit channel. Must be from my childhood when I wanted to be a cowboy. Really like "Bat Masterson" and "Wanted , Dead or Alive" for some reason. And of course there is always the most violent show on TV, "The Rifleman" where Lucas blows away bad guys with no remorse, then hugs his kid. Yeah, big Chuck Norris fan here. I watched religiously when it was on. The reboot recently with Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) could have been really good but it turned in to woke mess, no ass-kickin', no cameos from Chuck or anybody else but yet they tried to copy the same story. What a Puke-fest. Funny anecdote in the 90's on Friends ~ Rachel (Jen Anniston) was asked why she was having trouble getting dates and what she was doing about it and what she was doing on Sat night, answer "Watching Walker Texas Ranger". Back then I thought it was kind of funny to the referernce and how well WTR was liked. BTW, the best jokes in the world are Chuck Norris jokes.

I love me some ‘90’s series stuff. Walker, The Highlander TV series, Home Improvement. Comedies that were funny and didn’t have to worry about getting anyone’s panties in a wad. My wife and I graduated HS in the early ‘90’s and college in the mid ‘90’s. It was a great and simpler time. My kids even watch some of the ‘90’s shows and ask how it was like then. The new baby cops at work watch the old 90’s and early 2000’s episodes of COPS and they love it. I really feel like some today’s youth are looking for something that is gone….. I hope they can bring it back.

I never watched it either, but I’m smiling as I type this because it was apparently among my mom’s favorite shows. My niece, who does spot-on impressions of both mom and dad, recalls mom saying, “Hey kids, let’s go watch WALKERTEXASRANGER!” _______________________________________________________ despite them

Been watching H&I for awhile. All I get is ota tv so it's H&I, Grit, True Crime, and they recently added much to my delight the Outlaw channel! I can always find something to watch. Watched all the Walker Texas Ranger episodes as well as MacGyver. Richard Dean Anderson is a Minnesota boy and he throws a few flying kicks of his own now and again but mostly just out "MacGyver's" his opponents. Don't mind the Nash Bridges series either. Now if you really want CAMPY stuff the A Team is on H&I as well! A Team has to be the most campy program ever to hit the airwaves. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. An friend from college joined the writers' guild and submitted a script for Walker Texas Ranger. It was picked up in Season 3 and is his only writing credit in the movie and TV industry. He told me years ago that he was glad that people were still watching and that it remains in syndication because he still gets a royalty check for a few cents every so often. *** "Aut viam inveniam aut faciam (I will either find a way or make one)." -- Hannibal Barca

Shit don't mean shit |
I share a birthday with Chuck! I feel the need to point it out whenever someone brings up Chuck Norris. If you want to get in practice doing a leg kick just listen to some 80's hard rock, big hair bands, etc... I've been known to throw a leg kick in a store, or just about anywhere, if an appropriate leg kick song comes on the radio. A Chuck Norris leg kick will obviously differ from a 80's hair band leg kick, but practice is practice!

I watched the show occasionally. It was the equivalent of the cheap early afternoon matinee "popcorn flick" (or, in an earlier time, "B" movie), mindless fun, nothing deep. I enjoyed seeing loathsome villains being dealt a righteous ass-kicking. The last 2-3 seasons saw the introduction of new supporting characters, played by Nia Peeples and Judson Mills. Peeples, already being a dancer, could bust some moves.
