Swiss miss here. Not ideal, but it suffices if you add milk instead of water.

Oz_ShadowStarbucks cocoa tins from Costco are really good when they have them. I don’t go to Starbucks though. Probably nuts there. I’m sure it’s some Costco supplier.

beltfed21Swiss Miss dark chocolate! Sometimes hard to find, but a couple local stores carry it. I’ve never been a coffee drinker.

6gunsI'll be contrary as I like the Nestle cocoa, but as mentioned, I spike it with dark roast instant coffee, add a dash of cinnamon and red pepper and a good helping of half and half. Make a tasty cup I'll have on occasion.

YES vote for Alton Brown's improved Hot Chocolate recipe!
www.AltonBrown.com/recipes/hot-cocoa-mix/ My suggestion is to make an Adult Hot Chocolate:
* Tequila and Cayenne Pepper is a really nice mix.
* Replace the cayenne pepper with a shot (or more) of Fireball Whisky.
* Kahlua Liqueur is a nice add-on.
* My girlfriend enjoyed Kahlua Pumpkin Spice Liqueur, me not so much.
* Godiva Chocolate Liqueur was probably my favorite add-on.
This year, I want to try a Mint Liqueur, and an Orange Liqueur (Cointreau, Bols Triple Sec, or Grand Marnier). I also saw Patron is making an Orange Liqueur. I don't know if it is a flavored Tequila, but I don't think it is.

BeancookerCostco had some Land-o-lakes hot chocolate about 7 years ago. It was a pack with four flavors or so. It’s by far the best instant hot chocolate I have ever had, without question.
Good enough, that if it is a ten, the hot chocolate that held the rating of ten, was pushed all the way down to a six. That’s how damn good this stuff was.
That said, I haven’t been buying it. Unsweetened cacao powder, sugar, half and half… that’s all folks.

Gustofer & Corsair,
I come from a large family of chocaholics

Taste buds are different from person to person, stick with what you like best.
If you choose to try what I like, consider Guittard Chocolate (153 year old company from California) or Droste (158 year old company from Holland) the next time you need a Dutch processed coco powder for a baked item or to make your own hot chocolate mix.
These are my favorite chocolate companies and their Dutch chocolate powder is high fat, low starch which results in a smooth melting dessert with a wonderful chocolate taste.

I made the error of purchasing from Hershey's. Apologize to our PA members but, I should've stuck with my hunch, that Hershey's is good only for candy bars, outside of that, their cocoa powder was pretty weak.
Guittard I'm very familiar with, just wasn't available at the time.
I'm gonna get through what I made and do some top-tier cocoa hunting: Guitard, Valrhona, Callebaut, Droste, Ghirardelli, etc...

Many years ago when I was a bartender, I worked a bar that included a cappuccino machine. I would steam a mix of milk and half and half with Hershey's syrup for a base, and add liqueur to flavor. My two favorites were orange (as you said; Cointreau or other orange liqueur), and, best of all, Chambord, for chocolate/raspberry flavor. These were nectars of the gods, and very popular with the wait staff when I would get some worked up.

SeaCliffI use the Starbucks Kureig Hot Chocolate pod.
The only thing is you have to hit the ICED button on machine to get a good taste. Do not use hot water and 10 or 12 ounce button. Too watery.
