Your story is making little sense. In your OP you are implying that your gun was stolen and you know who stole it. Now in another post you are implying that you may have loaned this gun out.

Even if you loaned your gun to someone and they don't want to give it back, you still need to go talk to the police. Loaning it to someone may take it out of the stolen category, depending on the subjects intent, and you don't go around accusing them of theft if you don't want a civil suit filed against you.

Either report this to the police or get a lawyer!

1. Have you ensured it is listed in the BATFE Stolen Gun Database? Guns in this database have been found and returned to the owner decades later.

2. It is unlikely the thief knows the value of an X-5. To the average thief, it is at best a "gun" for his homeboys.

Two pages into this thing, and you haven't provided any specifics about this pistol you claim to be trying to find. That's plain odd. In cases of people reporting stolen firearms over the years in this forum, the very first thing they do is post the serial number, and that makes sense. You, on the other hand...

Post the serial number. Post the pictures you took of this firearm and let's take a look at the EXIF metadata on those pics.

Letting someone with life decision problems get away with this is not doing them a favor. They may have a drug or alcohol problem, or other problem. The sooner they straighten out, the better their life will be.

If you are too soft on them, they will do more and more of this.

Pawn shops work under a different system, re checking for stolen,


FFL's, in Va, have a system to input the data for used guns in the VSP system, same system we use for background checks (we are a Point of Contact state, not a FBI NICS state)

I know a few other dealers that have used it, but most of us do not, since the VSP expects you to run it while the customer is in front of you, (not always feasible)

there is no state or fed law that says it is mandatory

My bad...admittedly did some assuming on that one. Local jurisdictions will vary. Wasn’t thinking.

What kind of X-Five was it?

There are around 17 versions of the X-Five as a P226. The 320 X-Five has a few also. Not including caliber.
I don't have access to any database that would help you, but I'd bet some of the members here would be able to work with any info provided.
All the databases in the world won't do anything if it isn't reported in the first place.

If you don't want this persons life ruined as you say, remember, they are the one ruining it.

Joining the NRA gets you access to free firearms insurance but it needs to be activated. I keep all of my firearms secure but if they get stolen I’ll file a police report, file an insurance claim, get my money and buy a new gun.

Sig 320 five serial number starts 58b and as soon as i figure out where to post serial number and gun pics for file hosting ill do so.

If this is a troll thread it would be the most boring one of all time. I simply asked if there was a place to post stolen gun info and the answer is not a specific forum but post info in general. Its in law enforcement hands now and ill simpy wait.
