I do not think weapon systems are included.

Do you have a need for speed? You’re in luck! A 1980 F-16 A/B Fighting Falcon is for sale in Palm Beach for $8.5 million. According to The Drive, the fighter jet, originally from Jordan, first got attention after aircraft brokerage and leasing firm Jet Lease posted the aircraft for sale on their website.

The aircraft has been updated over the years with a modern nigh vision-compatible cockpit, a data-bus for guided weapons and a Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System. The aircraft has a maximum speed is Mach 2.05 at 40,000. That basically means it goes 1,573 miles per hour. Yes, this is the same aircraft used by the US Air Force and other NATO allies.

So the news article includes a clip from Topgun where they flew F-14's.

Never been in the Airforce but I'm betting it's not the same avionics and all.

Disclaimer: I know absolutely nothing about maintaining high performance military aircraft maintenance.
Question: Wouldn't this take an awfully large support crew?

8.5 million....Chump change! We'd only have to chip in a $100 a piece! Sooo, who do we have that's qualified to fly the F-16? Cool

Not for long, and we definitely have to stay off the afterburner.

Looks like a fill up is about 12,000 gallons, so about $56K. Good news is that should take you about 2100 nm if you behave, and about .175 nmpg.

Gallons per mile more likely.

the fuel number is the weight of the fuel in pounds, not gallons

12000 pounds at 6.66 pounds per gallon is around 1978 gallons - an easier fill up at the pump

In for $50 bucks. I just want one trip around the patch after we purchase it. I know a guy that can give me some ground training on it too.

Twelve grand in gallons would weigh more than the airplane, and you'd have a hard time finding somewhere on board to put it.

Fuel capacity is seven thousand pounds. To get 12,000 lbs on board, it takes external fuel.
