I wouldn't use New Skin for that... Keep it clean, use an antibiotic ointment, and when you're sitting around the house (in a clean environment) keep it uncovered and dry. New Skin would be useless for that wound IMO (it's used more for cuts).

limblessbiffI dunno if they changed the formula but the stuff I have stings like rubbing alcohol. It’s meant for small cuts, not something like that. Just put some neosporin in that and let it scab over and keep it clean

Replace when the liquid bubble that forms starts to leak or the bandage starts to fall off. They help cushion the wound too.
