Googles new O/S???
Just wondering if anyone has heard any details on it.

It is going to be called Fuschia or something similar. From the little I have read it is supposed to be a lot better than Android, especially for cell phones.

This article is what is generating the current "buzz." Looks to me like it has a long way to go before it is a real thing, if it every comes to fruition.

It's Android uncoupling from Linux. Makes sense given that people replace phones fairly often and apps are sandboxed. There are a lot of efficiencies to be gained from having a clean slate and a decade of experience.

It's very early in the development cycle.

I spent some time reviewing the underlying OS (kernel and such) which is called Magenta. I didn't see anything too unique or too interesting. In fact, it was kinda conventional and disappointing. I was hoping for something really groundbreaking in terms of OS safety, for example... and while it claims to use a "capability based" security system, I'm not sure how much is really there. I sure didn't notice anything that unique.

We shall see...
