Just wondering if anyone has heard any details on it. It is going to be called Fuschia or something similar. It's Android uncoupling from Linux. Makes sense given that people replace phones fairly often and apps are sandboxed. There are a lot of efficiencies to be gained from having a clean slate and a decade of experience. __________________________________ An operator is someone who picks up the phone when I dial 0. | |||

It's very early in the development cycle. I spent some time reviewing the underlying OS (kernel and such) which is called Magenta. I didn't see anything too unique or too interesting. In fact, it was kinda conventional and disappointing. I was hoping for something really groundbreaking in terms of OS safety, for example... and while it claims to use a "capability based" security system, I'm not sure how much is really there. I sure didn't notice anything that unique. We shall see... | |||
