From which end do you peel a banana?

I was surprised to learn that apes do it from the end that is not attached to the tree. They´re the experts, aren´t they?

It's actually easier they say to peel it that way. I always forget to try.

Never start eating anything from the ass end, or every bite tastes like crap.

You hold a thing by it's ass and eat until you get to the end and then toss the asshole.

Interesting. I guess I have not spent sufficient time at the zoo observing apes. I did notice that they sell a device that cuts bannanas into little slices. I only did that as a kid to put on my Wheaties in the morning.

Pack hunting carnivores of a wide variety would disagree with you. Wink

This method of peeling a banana actually does work better. You pinch the end a bit, the skin starts to separate and it’s super easy to peel. Almost like it was meant to come apart that way....

Hm... I wonder how monkeys cut their bananas for their Wheaties?

Our resident know-it-all at work claims that by doing so there's no strings to contend with like you get when starting at the "top". I don't hang around to watch him eat it to know if that's true or not.

I learned that a few years and started doing it that way. It's easier to open and less stringy.

I can only guess, starting the knife at the outside, crust end. Guessing if you have a good eye you can pull it off....

My wife tells me about every other time she sees me start to eat a banana, I am doing it backwards. F-it, she puts up with my shit so I laugh it off. I might just have to try it the correct way when she isn't watching!! Smile

I was in Costa Rica and set one out in the yard of our hotel hoping to attract an agouti. Instead, I got a squirrel. Not even one of the pretty variegated kind.

Damned thing sat there and ate the banana from the middle. Don’t know why I expected it to peel the banana from the end, but I sure as hell didn’t expect it to open the banana from the middle!
