Go visit Galveston, perhaps you will get the chance to meet some of the areas finest residents. They will most likely be out on bond by the time you come to visit.

Summer vacation? In Houston? Good one, seriously though, head for the mountains. Don’t waste several gallons of sweat in that massive sauna.

I'm afraid the only really good things I recall about my visit to Houston were (besides visiting my daughter):

My wife did all the driving of our rental SUV so I could cover my eyes knowing any moment we were gonna get killderated by some maniacal driver,

Met Q who turned out to be a great guy and new friend,

Got to visit Collectors Firearms (leave your credit cards and checkbook at home if you go),

Ate some fantastic food, especially the BBQ.

Plus the weather was pleasant and NOT like it's likely to be when you get there.

^ Q is indeed a great guy, met him near my office to pick up a Q karma win.
Good, brief, chat. Turns out we work relatively nearby each other.

@maxxpower…

As someone who genuinely enjoyed living in Houston for 6 years…

Is this a cry for help? Have you been kidnapped? Taken over by Lizard people? Blink 3 times if under duress….

Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin.

As an FYI, I did enjoy Houston, but I left every summer/many weekends for the Hill Country.

Ha! It seemed like a good idea while searching the internet (which is why I knew I'd get the real story here).

I am pivoting and doing some research on Boston.....

The sign of true enjoyment is staying put during summer. Everything else is just EINO (Enjoyment In Name Only). Razz
