Does he have favorite funny movies or sit-coms that makes him laugh?

Maybe buy some dvd’s of them for him to watch?

In addition of being enjoyable for him to watch and being distracted for a short time, I have read that the physiology and body chemistry of being amused and laughing can boost one’s immune system.

IMO the Bug A Salt 3.0 had the potential to be an ideal gift for a Cancer patient. He's going thru something that e has zero control over. So giving him a weapon that grants him complete control over resident flies would be of great benefit and he can exercise that control by stalking and dispatching errant flies that could be considered a stand-in for the Cancer.

Does he do his chemo at a center? As in, he has to go in and sit while an IV drips the chemo into him over a few hours?

If so, then a subscription to Audible would be nice.

The guitar or mandolin he has always wanted.

A few good books to read helps pass the time during treatment.

I do infusion treatments every two weeks.

I have a KVJ version of the Wonder Bible I listen to during these treatments. Other versions are available.
I do use headphones BTW.

Perhaps something inspiring that he can revisit at will like great music. I like Ravel's Bolero, O Fortuna by Carl Orff from his Carmina Burana cantata or some other genre that he enjoys. I don't listen to music as much as when I was young but when I do, there are times when it inspires so that I have to close my eyes and listen. Lately I've enjoyed various orchestral performances of the Eagles Hotel California and Led Zep's Kashmir.

Does he live near you? As someone who spent 14 months in a physical rehab facility last year and some change the thing I looked most forward to was a visit. Way better than a gift.

My "short" treatment lasts about 3.5 hrs and the "long" one lasts about 7 hrs. These interchange every other week. Let me tell you that 7 hrs in a rubber recliner is brutal especially when the two tv's are blaring the view or some other garbage. I like to take my Bible for study, an accompaning study book, my tablet, water and various snacks. HEADPHONES ALSO! My beatiful bride of 30 yrs puchased a Maxpedition Skyvale messenger bag for me and all the above mentioned fits easily. It makes my chemo tx tolerable. We'll be praying for you're brother. God Bless!
