I'm headed to Perry Ga., the week of 21 May for a short (real short) business trip. It's basically a 1 nighter. Any good restaurants or things to see in Perry?

The Museum of Aviation is right up the road (15 miles or so) at Robins Air Force base in Warner Robins. If you're interested in planes, that should probably be your first stop.

http://www.museumofaviation.org/

My daughter did an internship in WR one summer and said it's a nice place, but it's not the most exciting place in the world.

Hope you have a good trip.

Edit: If you're into the Allman Brothers, the Allman Brothers Band Museum is in Macon. That's about 30 miles north of Perry. The museum has the largest collection of Allman Brothers memorabilia in the world.

Be glad it's not my hometown of Perry, FL. That would be a sad trip. Everything I liked about it growing up is gone except the Hardees and none of the new stuff floats my boat. Except, it is a coastal community so you can do some scalloping and fishing.

As for Perry, Ga.... There is the Fairgrounds and some local fishing. I haven't been since the "historic downtown" was remodeled- but likely the shops you may like will be closed at 5 or 6 pm anyway. Probably say go to Swanson's restaurant or the Oil Lamp for decent non- chain grub (albeit not the finest atmospheres, the food is ok southern (some IS frozen but the stuff that isn't is good.)

Yeah, go to Macon, hell if I knew what day I'd even come with ya and have a mini met up. Only thing is check ya carry permit, and only about government buildings will restrict your gun. Just know if you drink and carry the illegal part is firing the weapon, not carrying while drinking

Too bad you can't come to North GA.

Unfortunately this is a quick trip and I have a co-worker with me. We come in the afternoon to Atlanta, then head for Perry. We're there in the morning for meetings then head back to Atlanta that afternoon to hop on our flights home.

I was honestly hoping this trip would have been longer so I could make a N. Georgia swing, but it just isn't in the cards for this trip
