I’d take that option over prison any day and train/prepare for the worst.

SCOTUS denies Chauvin's appeal, ending his legal fight.

The extreme unfairness of his trial was a complete miscarriage of justice. It is even sadder that no one in the judicial system from the trial judge to the appeals court to the MN Supreme Court to the US Supreme Court - had the courage to do anything about it. A decision was made at every level that one life - Chauvin's - could be sacrificed to avoid any more riots by the "mostly peaceful" left.

America has been in decline for quite some time but I think historians will look back at 2020 and pin that date as the official beginning of the end.

Very sad. I have no faith in our judicial system in this country at all. Not even a little bit. It's no better than a 19th Century Drumhead trial at this point.

Yes, Chauvin was a human sacrifice to appease the stokers of racial bigotry in this country and those gullible and stupid enough to buy their bullshit.

I thought for sure the trial judge was INTENTIONALLY causing reversible error by refusing the change of venue, letting the prosecution present medically suspicious theories about the cause of death, and a bunch of other things. So that he could just let Chauvin be found guilty and let the appeals courts worry about it later, after the furor settled down.

Guess no one had the guts, not even SCOTUS.

It was only a matter of time…

Ex-officer Derek Chauvin, convicted in George Floyd’s killing, stabbed in prison, AP source says

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd, was stabbed by another inmate and seriously injured Friday at a federal prison in Arizona, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

The attack happened at the Federal Correctional Institution, Tucson, a medium-security prison that has been plagued by security lapses and staffing shortages. The person was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the attack and spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity.

The Bureau of Prisons confirmed that an incarcerated person was assaulted at FCI Tucson at around 12:30 p.m. local time Friday. In a statement, the agency said responding employees contained the incident and performed “life-saving measures” before the inmate, who it did not name, was taken to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

That makes me sick but I’m not surprised.

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned in this thread but I highly recommend the book “They’re Lying” by Liz Collin. It’ll piss you off when you learn how he was railroaded.

Getting shanked in prison was the desired outcome by all those who put him there. It allows them to keep their hands clean versus a public hanging or stoning him to death in George Floyd Square.

I know it is fun to revel in the administration of “prison justice” in some cases, but I think it is always a demonstration of incompetence by the government. This guy shouldn’t even be in prison, IMO

Does he have a tort against the prison for not ensuring his safety?

Prisons are notorious for the guards forcing inmates into gladiator fights to bet on them.

From the Fox news story:
https://www.foxnews.com/us/der...ously-injured-report

"The incident marks the second incident at the prison in around a year. In November 2022, an inmate at the prison's low-security camp attempted to shoot a visitor in the head, but the weapon was misfired."
I/M-on-I/M assaults happen pretty frequently behind the walls, especially on high profile I/Ms, but an attempted shooting needs some explanation...

I would expect an ex-cop to be housed in a low-threat facility, but apparently even a low-security camp is pretty high-risk.

There is always a threat in a Federal prison no matter the security level. He was always a target. Everyone knew who he was from the time he arrived.

That's probably very true, but speaks volumes about the gross incompetence of the system (not all individual corrections officers). When they can't keep prisoners from killing each other or can't kill a convict efficiently when they perform an execution, it must be a total clown show. Think about the number of times we read about "difficulty" establishing an IV before lethal injection or taking hours to do so. WTF? Clinic and hospital personnel start IVs on patients of all sizes and all states of health hundreds of thousands times a day.

This should fall into the category of "You had one damn job"

All ex-cops are in danger when sent to prison. Could be any ethnicity looking to get pay back on a cop. Could be a black hit on a white cop striaght down the racial devide democrats have forced on all LEO's

Chauvin cant join a prison gang for protection so he cant "pay his taxes" like most. Even child molesters and rapists can pay for protection in prison. As long as they have commissary money they can be protected. Chauvin is fucked.

Now ain't that some shit.

Derek Chauvin was stabbed 22 times by federal inmate who says he attacked him on Black Friday as symbolic connection to BLM

An incarcerated former gang member and FBI informant was charged Friday with attempted murder in the stabbing last week of ex-Minneapolis police Officer Derek Chauvin at a federal prison in Arizona.

John Turscak stabbed Chauvin 22 times at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson and said he would’ve killed Chauvin had correctional officers not responded so quickly, federal prosecutors said.

Turscak, serving a 30-year sentence for crimes committed while a member of the Mexican Mafia gang, told investigators he thought about attacking Chauvin for about a month because the former officer, convicted of murdering George Floyd, is a high-profile inmate, prosecutors said. Turscak later denied wanting to kill Chauvin, prosecutors said.

He’s a white male - he represents everything the leftists despise.

I’m surprised the USSC didn’t stop this travesty as well but this demonstrates that they see these things through the political lens as well. Sure they can use fancy Latin words to justify their failure to fight a wrong but the USSC still failed.

I hope there is ultimately retribution taken against everyone that railroaded this man. They should spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulders hoping they don’t get shanked 22 times

Watching Jesses Watter's video, it is becoming very interesting, and becoming evident that "people" outside of the prison want Chauvin dead. The timing is also very interesting, given the documentary "The Fall of Minneapolis" has recently been released.
