It all starts with you parents.
Teach the kids good, honest principles and they might have a chance.
The problem is that the "media" is raising our kids now days and we all know how they are.
It's not going to get any better because the kids are being indoctrinated.

I’ll add that too many parents are expecting our teachers and schools to raise their kids. Raising kids to think critically and have a sense of personal responsibility was not easy and was not something I was going to leave to others or chance.

I’d prefer everything go back to normal.

But minimally, we’re in for a rough ride just due to energy policy, weak leadership, rising inflation and adding 120 million people to the country in the last 50 years.

Count the facts that we buy a shit-ton from China and that nearly everybody under 40 was indoctrinated through a corrupt government edummy system… well it’s awfully hard to be optimistic.

Either way… I’m prepared for what may be our future.

To the OP:

Not sure how active you are on social media, but about a year ago I trimmed significantly the sites and news stories that I followed. I read Twitter for news, but unfollowed the ‘doom and gloom’ posters and have significantly reduced my time on Facebook. Now I use it to follow a few cooking and cigar related forums, that is all.

I believe you are correct, it won't get better. But just because it gets worse, and probably fails in its current form...doesn't mean we go away. Prepare for as much as you possibly can, move to safer locations, live more affordably, prepare to be self-sufficient, and grow your local support network. OR live life to the fullest right now...and plan for the "blaze of glory" exit. There's lots of ways to prepare for the end. Likely everything isn't ending...so this limping in, slow-burn thing kinda sucks.

One day at a time. Pick a plan and work towards it. Get busy living or get busy dying as they say.

I don't get down by it, I do get angry though. I hate what the evil and incompetent peoples are doing to the greatest nation on Earth. I think it is possible to come back from this, but I don't think it is probable. I want to be among those fighting until the last moment though. I want to continue being able to say I've defended this nation against foreign and domestic for all of my adult life. In the fullest capacity, I was able, I've not given in. Don't give in. That's what they want. Find a way to resist, and run with it.

There is a lot out there that one could feel negative about. My experience has been that wallowing in negativity and dwelling on all that is wrong just brings me down. What does seem to help (a lot) is to DO something to make something better. Getting a little bit of regular exercise, doing more to be self-sufficient, eating better, etc all gives a feeling of being able to make things better.

I may be full of beans, but I believe that humans are happier and do better when they believe they have some control over their circumstances. There is plenty out there that we don't have much control over, and much to lament about how that stuff is going, but we'll be both happier and better off if we focus on what we can do to make something better, whatever it is.
YMMV.

I have met more young people in the last two years with their heads screwed on straight than I thought could possibly exist.

I have great faith in the future. These kids are smart, understand markets and economics, and are pretty uninterested in having government tell them how to live their lives. Even those who identify as "liberal" are not happy with where todays racial socialists are driving the country, and they reject that view.

We will always have idiots among us, and idiots tend to be loud. Commercial media makes it's money by capturing eyeballs, and they use the angriest idiots to do that.

We are going to be just fine. Reality has a way of winning, and a ton of our young kids are realists.

I read no news. None. Zero.
I only look at motorcycle or guitar stuff online and of course gun and other entertainment content on here but I avoid any and all events that occur outside of my daily life and that of my family.
I couldn't tell you what the latest political bs is or any details about the wuflu. I don't give a shit. Whatever will happen is going to happen regardless of my knowledge of it.
Know what? What happens in another state or halfway around the world doesn't effect me in the least. Informed or uninformed about goings on outside of what i can control just causes blood pressure spikes and I'm a lot happier and well adjusted since I decided to let go of things I cannot control.

The Serenity Prayer seems appropriate here:

God, grant me the Serenity
To accept the things I cannot change...
Courage to change the things I can,
And Wisdom to know the difference.

Put another way, Don't waste your time worrying about stuff that you can't change. Instead, put your efforts into making whatever positive changes you can.

One will likely be happier taking this sort of approach.

So very true.

Only thing I can add is don’t give up. Vote. Vote. Vote.

Thinking we will defeat the Democrats next November is repeating the same mistake we made in 2020. Lets look at the situation: if there was no fraudulent voting, then it's perfectly normal to see a President who got 81 million votes despised publicly at sporting games, for him to avoid the Army Navy game because of it, and for social media to remove downvoting to avoid continually embarrassing his administration.

OR

if there was fraudulent voting, it's not corrected, nobody arrested, tried or convicted, and it will happen again. The Democrats will win and it keeps getting worse.

There is your choice - either fix the elections, or expect the elections to keep being rigged. And don't expect the news to support what should be done - they have gone full retard covering it up.

BTW - for those who say they quit the news, I get it. But - there are still sources who are truthfully portraying the situation and not getting any GOOD news is burying your head in the sand. Its disconnecting from the news, and that is exactly what our enemies want.

Don't play into their hands and just keep pushing the same buttons thinking you will get a new answer.

Ryan, what you wrote, perfectly describes me, substituting motorcycle and guitar with Jeep and guns. Seriously, I have said exactly the same thing to many people. I have also used the “elevated blood pressure” reference. It was really uncanny to read that.

Tirod, I agree with you that news can't be trusted and no place is truly trustworthy.

I've been suspicious of Bannon since he has allied with Prosobiac on Gettr - I had high hopes for their non censorship but they seem to have bailed on that principle and then hiring the never Trumper babe as Communications Director... that aint right

I go mostly to Conservative Treehouse - Sundance doesn't seem to have an agenda and he reads tea leaves well.

I like Lucianne as an aggregator - most important articles are posted there quickly and reader comments add insight although quality and volume have declined over the past 20 years.

Citizen Freepress is another aggregator that is trying to fill the Drudge void. Kane tries hard and is making an impact.

I look at Bongino's site but don't trust him - too close to Hannity

Gateway Pundit is too sensational - everything is BAM!!! and there is usually nothing there.

Zero Hedge used to be great financial site but since the ownership change the Tyler's are erratic, I still check it daily.

I love Joe Dan Gorman's podcast and he has one of the best voices/delivery on the internet. Naturally funny and a super sense of the absurd.

Hard to find news that you can trust - where do others go?
