Did you know this? I didn't know this. The defined area is a place near and dear to my heart.

Very cool. I’ve never heard of this “neutral zone” “You may beat me, but you will never win.” sigmonkey-2020 “ in my opinion, anything that we can do to trigger a potential aneurysm in a leftist is a good thing and worth doing” nhtagmember 2025

I've never heard of it. I might have missed it in Louisiana History in school. _______________________________________________________ And no, junior not being able to hold still for 5 seconds is not a disability.

As a Louisiana resident am very familar with the the term "neutral ground" but only in the context as associated with the middle ground seperating opposing lanes of automotive traffic travel on roadways generally in the New Orleans area as well as the Baton Rouge area.... Never heard about the land on the western side of the state as described in the video. ............................ drill sgt.

I wasn’t aware of the neutral zone either. I did find the similar timelines of neutral zone and ground correlative references interesting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Live today as if it may be your last and learn today as if you will live forever

Interesting that the military commander figured out a solution, not the politicians. Hmmm, who were the pragmatists?

Me neither, another thing learned today! Thanks for posting. I knew about the purchase of LA and AK, but never the buffer zone. DJT wanted to buy Greel=nland for Denmark and of course, they laughed at him. It would have shown in history what a brilliant deal was made. _________________________

I don’t recall ever hearing about this. But it has been about 50 years since I took Louisiana history class in 8th grade.

Para...it begs the question.....you have roots in that part of LA? I have family roots in Alexandria, Lake Charles, and Natchitoches (or Nacki-tush as we call it). Thanks for sharing. I had heard of this "Neutral" zone but was not aware that it lasted as long as it did.

That's a cool bit of history. I had no idea.

I'm familiar with it; there's a bit of cross-history with Louisiana and Texas boundaries as touched on in the video. Up in the northwest of that area is a unique item; a Republic of Texas boundary marker.

Cool piece of history I didn't know. From the NO area so I'll have to ask friends and family if they knew of this or not. Thanks for sharing and having me learn something new. " like i said,....i didn't build it, i didn't buy it, and i didn't break it."

Similarly, there is a region of Yellowstone Park wherein theoretically a crime could be committed without consequence, since there are no people there and thus no jury pool. https://idahocapitalsun.com/20...e-of-death-loophole/ Tim "Dead Midgets Handled With No Questions Asked"
