Got a DJI Mini 2 for Christmas. I'm blown away by what a $400 drone can do, and I'm just scratching the surface. The thing is tiny. The controller, two batteries, and the drone all fit one pocket of my tank bag.

I'm gearing up for a bucket list trip towards the end of this year. There is so much to learn about photography, even without throwing adding the complexity of a flying camera. But I'm having a lot of fun.

Sorry for the clickbait title, and the copilot was a gag-gift from a friend, so I took him along for the ride to keep the joke going. He's a real conversation starter.

Looks like you have an African Twin? How do you like it? Looking at one possibly down the road.

Nice job! I have a friend who’s built a number of custom RC copters and drones. One was used to film the aerial shots for a PBS program. You never know where a hobby will end up taking you.

Way cool!
I keep wanting to try out a drone, but I have to keep reminding myself I really don't have time for another hobby.

Looking forward to more of your drone videos.

That's great! I've been toying with the idea of getting one too. Like vthoky says, do I have time for another hobby?

Very cool. My SIL has a $1,000 drone that will follow him and avoid trees and stuff. Very, very cool.

Triumph Tiger 900. Africa Twin would be a great choice. There is definitely something to be said about parts/accessory availability. You can find a Honda dealer in pretty much every town. Triumph? Not so much. But still, I love this bike!

Thanks! I guess technically this qualifies as another drone video. Smile

That was super cool ! The clarity was amazing, especially the closeups. I watch on Youtube in full screen mode on my computer.

It seemed easy to fly / navigate. Notice watching you use a tablet and operating the drone without looking at the screen. Wow !

Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more videos and your review thoughts.

In that first video, are you doing all the controlling one-handed, or is someone else running that? Seems very clear video, very detailed.

I love my Mini! I mainly use if for fly fishing. I use it to scout rivers and locations that will be excellent fishing. The more I use it the more time I spend looking for excellent setting to drone. Before you know it you will be looking for scenes that are beautiful and trying to make them look good on film. Its maddening. You are going to love it.

Thanks for sharing. Great Job with the Drone. They keep getting better and better. Maybe someday I'll get one.
I love the Triumph Tiger 900 by the way. Great choice!
Spare parts/support were a big factor when I bought my 2021 Africa Twin.

The drone has a mode called "quick shots". There are 4 or 5 pre-programmed flight patterns. You put the drone at the start point, click on the screen to set the center/focus point, and hit go. It'll do circles, spirals, rocket up, slow pull out. It's so cool.

I did some 1-handing, which is easy when flying is one dimension (dolly). Point it in the right direction, hit record, little input on the stick, done.

At some point I'd like to upgrade to a drone with "follow me" capability. But it's a lot more money.

So an "old dino"-saur like myself can make this drone fly and film. Smile

Pretty wild stuff. Not that many years ago at a hangar at an airport in Arkansas, a bunch of pilots got hold of a remote "drone" quadcopter; we crashed it in the hangar repeatedly and finally lost it on top of a large hanger when it got away. Nobody managed to fly it. Managed to bounce it off a few aircraft in the hangar, too.

Interesting that such accurate technology can be built into such a little device that it can fly with that stability, and get shots like yours.

Congratulations. Love the tiger. It was on my shortlist a few years back, but BMW gave me a stupid cheap interest rate I couldn't refuse.

Since you're uploading to youtube... make sure you check out these drone rules. https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/

It's good to keep updated on them, the FAA likes to change them.
